We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
First topic message reminder :
Well, as I started one for the Championship, it seems now is the time for the Premier League 2014/15 thread to begin!
We have all our teams, with Leicester, Burnley and QPR replacing Cardiff, Fulham and Norwich. Can City retain, can United break into the top four, how will Liverpool cope with Champions League football. All this and more can be discussed as we see how the transfers, the rumours, the World Cup and everything else make an impact on the Premier League before it all kicks off?
I'll open it up...the Telegraph, Sky Sports and others report Pochettino is top of Spurs' shortlist and could be unveiled in the next week. Thoughts? Sounds the perfect fit to me. Some suggesting he'll bring Rodriguez with him, although that sounds like immediate clutching to me.

More bad news for West Ham, looks like Fat Sam's at loggerheads with the board over which players to retain and bring in.

A clean sheet for the eagles last night.. Pulis will be able to sleep again.
Palace looking OK but no signings of note. It looks like VDG could be looking at Zaha in a better light than Moyes, so he is out. QPR are probably paying caulker something ridiculas each week so we lost him.. Bahhh

Actually we signed Frazier Cambell which doesn't interest me in the slightest- how does he add to what we have, we have other lumpy forwards , Murray fitness is back and gayle is one of the PL's potential stars- we (like every other team in the world) needs a decent CM.
I we cant get the strikers chances- they cant score!

Seems the powers that be have chosen West Ham as the story for the season/club to stick the boot into.

We've made a great impression over there, we have the captain of their team remember! We're just a bit Poopie. But we've been really good with getting out to loads of events, open training sessions, players meeting fans and getting to lots of tourist locations. And now we're loveable losers, which is what we've always been since I've been alive

Mo Diame took a selfie, which should satisfy all kiwis. It'd satisfy me
Anyways west ham are going at it all silly wanting to change style but keeping the same manager is gonna end up ugly ala Pulis at stoke (not saying Allardyce plays that bad)

He needs to be sacked because its become a big Wee weeing match. Sullivan goes on radio and has a go at Sam's signings, Allardyce loses a match and says its because of the new style demands. Sullivan clearly wanted Sam out but got overruled, Allardyce clearly doesnt like his job but is a stubborn swine.
He's now 6/4 in some places for first manager gone.

no one wants to be with Millwall!
I still think its unlikely we'll sack him before December, depends on who is available. If they can get Moyes then they will, otherwise it'll be foreign and fancy and relegation. I think we're a good bet at 6/1 to go down now, the positivity made me think it, and that positivity has given way to the inevitable negatives. If there had been no positives I wouldnt have cared, but its always bad when we have positives.

It's nothing new, to be fair. They know Sam is staunchly defensive of himself and will not sit and be quiet if criticised. This stuff won't be an issue come august 16th, the performances will be his sink or swim. Losing at home to spurs poorly could see him out of a job within a month I reckon.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
So how about we have some fun, lots of clubs spending big money this summer so two out of Chelsea/city/arsenal will be makin excuses for not winning the title. United/Liverpool for not making cl etc
Who will be making them and what will they be?
Chelsea - club distracted as re elected conservative government determined to take action against Russia, as Putin doesn't care and nothing can be done they try and deport abramovich. As roman has about as much chance of returning to Russia as welbeck has of being top scorer he moores his superyaught in the Thames and refuses to come out.
United - after a few poor results Louis van gaal determined to prove he has the balls for the job refuses to wear trousers, causing all united matches to be post watershed affairs. The sponsors jump ship due to a lack of (or too much) exposure and all the earners are off loaded on January. Leaving cleverly and welbeck to lead the title (avoiding relegation) assault.
Liverpool - cannot cope as Brendan's rogers goes missing after a poor start. To be found months later stalking Louis Suarez, serenading him with Maria careys all I want for Christmas whilst dressed as a giant dog chew toy.

He was only on loan to us- Is he going back to stoke?
I should know this... But anyway we have Campbell so we have that spot filled with a similar and slightly better player if we haven't still got him.

I knew he was going in to it full time. That is why he was getting so many gigs before hand- I was hoping he would just go in to coaching!!. He had better learn how to smile and enunciate or I am going to Call Virgin up and tell them to blank him and his voice from my Screen/speakers.

Beckham allways had an engaging smile though......
Good luck to Scholes anyway.. Still a legend player, despite my annoyance with his suicidal tones and words.
I am sure we will have the upbeat to counter his dry and pessimistic style.

Howard deserves a testimonial match for his duties to United over the last 10 years. He has quality in abundance when it came to ignoring everything in the United box.
It's a shame though one of the better refs still going nowadays.

looking at the odds- Burnley are 4/7 and favs for the drop
Palace last year were about 1/10.
Just backing them to stay up would have got you about 8/1!!
It looks like the bookies are more wary this year.
