Called it. Went as expected, only difference being I thought Carl would eventually win by grinding him down, submission by attrition if you will, didn't think he had one leveller in him, if I'm honest

What can I say as a Froch fan, made my year that punch! Groves showed no respect throught the rematch build up, and as they say karma is a beach..war Froch, who next - GGG, Ward, or top LH.

The thing that's served Froch so well over his career is that he has the capacity to surprise everyone at times. That's the best single shot I've seen him throw in his entire career, it doesn't really have a precedent. Last time it was Groves who shocked Froch with his aggressiveness early on, this time it was Groves who was surprised by Froch's patience.

Thanks guys, yep Froch physically burnt him! Thought the card as whole did a great job in promoting boxing to the masses - 6 KO's in row, can't ask for more, went well with my 6 beers, shame Strum messed up my accumulator though, doh!

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
Has to be Chavez or GGG next for him, no point in ward-froch 2
Chavez is the easier/bigger fight but the harder guy to negotiate with. Think Chavez will be competitive but is too easy to hit. Froch loves to go to war as he is usually the tougher man but Chavez has a great chin, decent power and is bigger than carl although I can't see his face holding out as he gets hit so much, vera messed his face up bad in both fights and he's a light hitting middle
GGG is also winnable but he's much smoother a technician than chavez and hits harder, if he lands rights like groves did than froch will be in trouble. He also has a great chin and great stamina so wont fade like chavez does as he doesn't cut 20+lbs in 24 hours before the fight
Win/lose against either of them the degale fight will always be there for him and that is a fight you'd expect him to win, degale has stamina problems and doesn't throw with enough power to stop froch walking through him

Thought the neighbours might have called the police that's how loud the roar was we all went ballistic.milkyboy wrote:Nice win nico. Hand on heart, halfway through the 8th did you think you were going to get your payout? I'll wager (at probably pretty short odds) that there were a few celebrations, when the money shot landed

I'm not sure what fights froch has left I'd be that interested in watching. Junior is the big, easy money fight, but doesn't float my boat. Very hard to see him changing the result against ward, unless ward gets careless.
It would be interesting to see how chunky does at a higher level, but it doesn't really excite me. GGG is probably the one I'd be really interested in, but its high risk low reward for carl.

I actually stole the eighth round Kayo prediction that I made public from you. Pity I didn't put my money where your mouth was.

I feel quite smug to be honest, called this like it happened, Froch boxed well behind the jab, didn't wing in and kept to a plan.
Next time I'll bet

Have to hand it to Froch, huge punch to conclude the rivalry. The first fight still shouldn't have been stopped but this makes some amends.
Have to say though, I'm liking the man less and less every time he opens his mouth. Not as much class as some fighters have in their little finger. Too much time spent in Lee's company?

I genuinely saw a football fan friend of mine on facebook claiming the rematch too had been stopped too early! That was funny.

Scorecards have been released; 68-65 Froch, and two had it 67-66 for Groves. I have no interest in a Kessler rematch as I don't think Kessler has a lot left.

I blame the ref. Howard Foster would have been in there as soon as he saw Froch man sausage that right hand.

You've got it the wrong way round. One had it 68-65 for Groves, the other two had it 67-66 for Froch.hampo171 wrote:Scorecards have been released; 68-65 Froch, and two had it 67-66 for Groves. I have no interest in a Kessler rematch as I don't think Kessler has a lot left.

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
I don't know about you guys, but I enjoyed the ring walks almost as much as the fight itself! Thought Groves making Eddie wait was pretty epic. Really funny seeing Eddie march to the door to barge it open and Groves coming out at that same instant. As OTT as the bus was thought it was pretty cool.
One interesting thing I thought was the build up showed Froch earlier in the day in his hotel room by himself whilst Groves was in his surrounded by a big entourage. Yet walking to the ring Groves did it alone (psychology i'm sure as he likes to play the lone ranger) and Froch has a massive entourage. Lee Froch needs to ditch the shades indoors.

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
Was that Groves the 11 fight novice with the supposedly dodgy chin who Degale couldn't and didn't look like knocking out, or the World class fighter who hit the granite chinned Froch harder than he's ever been hit in his life.tunes666 wrote:He allready has, and Degale moves out of the way quicker than Froch does..Nico the gman wrote:chunky ain't taking Groves power punches.
Every fight Degale has he can't help it, he goes to the ropes, its a bad habit, and he won't counterpunch Groves from that position like he did against Gonzales.
Its a matter of opinion,Degale's a decent fighter, doesn't pull up any trees for me,would beat the distinctly average Bika though.
