Interesting article on skysports about Froch saying he needs to combat his nerves!
Given his superstar status wouldn't imagine he would have any at this point in his career! Certainly not enough to have to control them!

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
Unless Mitchell knocks him down, there is ok way he should get a decision

Rumours around Wembley that Sakio Bika is going to start a little "drama" after the fight tonight

I got it 7/3 to Maduma. Some close ones though. Maduma won't get a fair shake.

Fair play to Mitchell, but Maduma didn't know what to do once he was hurt.

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
I think that was a poor stoppage. Should let him make it to the end of the round.
Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
Nah I don't agree with that stoppage. Vice versa and Mitchell gets benefit of the doubt.

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
What an odd finish. I didn't think the punch looked that hard but Maduma simply seemed to lose his legs. Exhaustion and punch, maybe?
Not the best finish by Mitchell but the ref was right.

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
I reckon they should have a rematch following that decision. £5m each for the rematch
Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
Referee stopped that because when he reached for the rope he missed and stumbled, made his condition look a lot worse than it was.

If I was the ibf champ, I would be more than happy to take on Mitchell.
Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
Paulie wants to be careful, they won't have him back otherwise

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
Agree with the stoppage. Looked gone in the legs. Exhausted possibly.
Glad Paulie is commentating as well.
Mitchell is simply an average fighter at very best. No more and no less. Gets eaten at world level (see vs Burns and Katsidis).
Looking fo forward to De Gale to see how he looks.

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
Maduma's legs had gone and he was there to be hit. The ref had to protect him from himself. It was a good stoppage.
Unless anybody out there can tell me how they thought, given how his legs went, he was going to come back?

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
Poor stoppage...what does that make the Froch v groves I stoppage mind
Credit to Mitchell stuck in there; two years ago odd he wouldn't have I don't think. Showed that he's just short of world class still though; easy to frustrate and figure out.

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
Calling it now; first of two big predictions! De gale gets walked down and beaten..stopped around the 10th!
Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
I can see why the ref stopped it, his legs were completely gone as was he.

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
Just to point out, Maduma also failed to raise his hands to the ref after the standing 8.
It was odd, but his legs had gone and he didn't seem to be defending himself. So, it was a fair stoppage.
Missing the ropes when he was trying to steady himself, certainly didn't help.

I hope DeGale loses because he is wearing black socks and black shoes. #fashionfauxpas

Gonzalez isn't going to walk him down that much is obvious already.

Hammersmith...your making that call after one round!! Swear you like disagreeing with me! Given de gales tendency to start sitting in the ropes it's more than possible anytime after the 6th!

I just think you're wrong more often than not, he just doesn't look the type to walk someone down.

Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
DeGale looks a different fighter tonight. I still want him to lose due to the black sock/black shoe combo
Re: Tonights Action *Spoilers*
Well that second round showed what de gale is about; undies the hard work of the first! Closed down easier by Gonzalez!
Always shocked how easy James marks up; red round both eyes already!!

Having watched his previous fights HH it tends to be what he does.

He doesn't have to be against degale hh! James allows people to do it! Surely if you know anything about boxing you know that...

The referee should have pushed Degale back then, Degale was stood next to him when he was giving the count.
