Credit has to be given to Gloucestershire, but 1 wicket all day? Terrible from Surrey.

I suppose the fact the we scored so many runs show that it was a batsmen's wicket, but even so, not to win having been 500 ahead after the first innings is awful. I just hope that Tremlett and Dernbach leave by next season as I can't see why they're in the team.

King Dave - I would expect Curran to replace one of them for the Derbys CC match.

I really hope so (Dernbach has 8 wickets at 64 apiece this season!). Why isn't Kapil playing? Is there still a clique in the dressing room at Surrey?

Re: Surrey vs Gloucestershire LV=County Championship
My final post on this thread - I think the wicket defeated every bowler so I'm not blaming Dernbach on this occasion but his form has been grim. I think he's only been playing in the four day matches because of the injuries to Meaker and Linley and the unavailability of Curran. Once they are all available I think he is really going to struggle to get in the four day side and his white ball form isn't very good either at the moment.
As for Kapil, I think he might be another with an injury. In the second eleven game the week before last he bowled 2.3 overs, Rippon completed his over and he didn't bowl again. He did play in this week's match but only as a batsman.
Final depressing (from Surrey's point of view) stat from the match - according to Opta that was the first time a side has conceded a first innings lead of over 475 and not lost since 1938. Definitely a couple of days to forget so I'll let you do that now.
