Whats Going On In Wales Part 3
First topic message reminder :
Understand but if the EGM had gone a certain way his position would have been untenable.
Thats not going to happen now.
Did I hear correctly that a joint statement is due by WRU and RRW concerrning central/joint contracts.
Also heard something about an East/West split within RRW but they may be just groundless gossip

Or we could get a roll over.
Anyway here's Gareth Edwards commenting on; the elusive agreement, Gerald's speech at the EGM which took everyone by surprise and Dodger's reaction to those words of wisdom.

We rarely hear anything from either Gareth Edwards or Gerald Davies.
Mmmm, interesting.

John Taylor of course. How did I forget?
"There is also the thorny issue of the Participation Agreement with the regions. With his trademark smile on full power Lewis tried to reassure everybody they are close to doing a deal but it is blindingly obvious that the directors of the companies that run the regions do not trust him an inch. They have complained that there has never been a proper dialogue - his threats to disband the Regions altogether and create new ones left a big scar - and they still see him very much as the problem not the solution."

Mr Lewis really is not popular at all amongst rugby people is he. What was it Moffett said, something like, "he isn't a rugby man, he is a song and dance man, and knows nothing about rugby at all". It definitely seems that some well known, and respected, rugby men would agree with that.

"Fans risk losing rugby as a national sport, Pontypool warns after no confidence vote:
"POOLER corporate director Ben Jeffreys has warned that fans risk losing rugby as a national sport as the Welsh Rugby Union saw off a no confidence vote.
Mr Jeffreys spoke out after the governing body survived the vote of no confidence at an extraordinary general meeting in Port Talbot on Sunday.
blah-blah-blah etc,
All clubs have different requirements and I respect the outcome of the vote and their democratic right, however I do not feel yesterday's outcome represents the true feeling within Welsh rugby and for that I feel the game will feel the effects of this outcome for years to come.”

Been rumbled IMHO especially with regards to £££s. That's the impression I get from tweeter and other forums. Doesn't surprise me either, I have to say.

And wasn't Mr Moffett a Rag and Bone man? The two of them together might cut an amusing sight on a street corner, playing their recycled intstruments and their caps on the ground begging for the copper.

Although I am sure that Roger will be heading over to the summit to get some networking in, just in case he changes his mind and decides that he wants to head towards politics after al.

So with there just being a handful of hours left remaining on the PA, anybody know if we are looking at a RSA being signed before the deadline or are we looking at mass redundancies of low waged staff.

The previously stated deadline will now have a stated deadline attached to it to ensure any future deadlines will be honoured and not breached. If the absolute deadline is breached there is a deadline ready and waiting to fill the vacuum between "we're not speaking again" and "we'll have nothing to do with them other sorts ever"

He'd have to be mad to take on that role.
RRW is a silly acronym anyway and I look forward to it changing to something like PCRW say, if you get my drift.

Stone, to be fair it is almost the polar opposite of any regional fans forum. But the regional fans forums also have the exceptionally one-eyed posters, so between them, weeding out the absolute nonsense, you can get a fair-ish view of what is going on.
I guess the middle ground between the two of polar opposites of scumV and a regional fans forum, would be 606v2. And the "What's going on in Wales" threads have over 2,000 posts and we still are unclear of what is really going on.

Except some of the posters on 'regional' fora (say Gwlad, for example) clearly have considerable accounts/legal/playing experience, along with contributions from people directly involved with the debate, whereas Scum V posters have considerable experience of a whopping sense of entitlement, cloud-cuckoo land economics, a firmly held belief that Ponty would give Toulon a game on their home patch, and contributions from a bunch of raving lunatics

It's a disgusting forum. Like Mos Eiesly. But it is very aptly named.
One of the moderators once openly celebrated Rhys Priestland rupturing his achilles tendon. They openly allow the most digraceful dreggs of society back on to that site time and time again. It's very much like a soccer forum more than a rugby one. A pro WRU anti regional mouthpiece of the Union. I have personally been asked to meet up for a fight twice. One regular openly mocked when Ray Gravell's leg was amputated. He's still on there.
Disgusting place.

Blydi hell Chunky - taking the mick out of Ray Gravell someone who IMHO is up there as one of the greatest Welshmen ever and not just for the rugby - what sort of mentality is that?
I know the game inspires strong feelings down there (as has been show on this forum a few times) but you're right about them living up to the name then.......

Robin Davey has tweted "Dragons c/e Gareth Davies tells Radio Wales a new deal has to be struck with the WRU" so does that mean it is finally time for the ceasefire? Or is it that they have struck another deal to have another meeting.
If it is the RSA is done and signed, maybe we can wait until Thursday when the Irish are about to announce their new leagues sponsors and we can steal all the thunder and announce that the WRU & RRW are friends again.

Hammer, that was tongue in cheek about it the RSA being announced Thursday, because since the RRW V WRU spat, all we have had of our Irish colleagues is that we are destroying their league, and that we are being selfish and trying to destroy all of their hard work etc etc. To be honest I would love us to make the announcement an half an hour before/after they unveil their new league sponsor, but I doubt it will happen.

It's been a lot of fun. All of it. The PRL guff, the LNR back-stabbing, double agent in the long grass stuff; the Regions sitting on a fence and wanting a legitimate leg in both fields at the same time and for the duplicity to be written in law, the Irish railroading anyone who didn't agree with their Natural Reigndom of Europe!!!! (yep, me has been a big part in that one - and a great show it was too if I don't mind me saying so ) Then the late late show provided by Mr Ego Moffett. It's been a ball.
Part two begins next season when the shiny new car gets its first test run.... oh the fun that will be.

I'm getting the first swipes of that story on other threads. Ain't that something. Well, some of us always said it would only be a name change as the same people who were with the ERC (INCLUDING the PRL and RFU!) would be the faces that populated the new group. These were always going to be roughly the same group of folks by definition.

A bucket full more like and the headline in the BBC article is a tad mis-leading. Did you read it SS? GE doesn't give the impression that he's "upbeat" at all. Quite the opposite actually.
