Cardiff Clearout
Jay Bothroyd and Chris Burke will leave Cardiff City this summer after not being offered new contracts by the club.
The Bluebirds today revealed the star duo have not been able to agree new terms at the Cardiff City Stadium, with Bothroyd now set to join one of a number of potential suitors.
Everton, Sunderland and Fulham are among a clutch of Premier League clubs reportedly chasing the striker.
Winger Burke is likely to seek a move back to his native Scotland.
Gavin Rae and Martin John have also been released, while Adam Matthews has previously agreed terms with Celtic.
Jonathan Meades and Jordan Santiago have been offered new professional contracts, while from the academy ranks, Ibrahim Farah, Nathaniel Jarvis and Alex Evans have all been offered senior terms with the club. Sameth Al-Basith and Steffan Jones have been released.
On loan players Craig Bellamy, Jason Brown, Stephen Bywater, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Jason Koumas, Seyi Olofinjana and Jlloyd Samuel are to return to their parent clubs, while Anthony Gerrard, Solomon Taiwo and Aaron Wildig are to return to Cardiff City.

New manager? New squad? Interesting or nervous times ahead for bluebirds fans.

Bothroyd's apparantly in talks with Celtic, that would be a good move for all parties

Re: Cardiff Clearout
I'm glad to see the back of Bothroyd to be honest. Talented player but blows hot and cold. During the latter part of the season he was very poor and his body language suggested he wanted to be anywhere but Cardiff. I'm sad to see Burke leave as I thought he was a decent player but again like Bothroyd very inconsistent.
What is a worry though is that according to a fan page on FB Cardiff City currently only have 15 players with at least 1 professional start.

I didn't realise Cardiff had such a large loan contingent. That's a bit of a worrying exodus isn't it?

Thats an awful lot of players to replace! Do you have any money spend to replace them or will it all be free transfers?

Probably a couple of free transfers and a load of dodgy loan signings.

Re: Cardiff Clearout
I think there'll be two or three signings with a fee, a few more frees and three or four loanees.
We had seven loans this year, but two were keepers to cover injuries to our first and second choices.
