Tbf this isn't the same Costa that's been playing for Atletico, a long hard season and a few injuries catching up with him here I think

Brilliant goal by Brazil there to give them the lead. Great ball into the box there and then a fabulous finish from Neymar, world class finish, many get that wrong, he didn't.

How they aren't 2-0 up I'll never know. Once again, a fabulous low ball into the box and Fred just couldn't bundle it home, even with his best attempts, great last ditch covering tackling by Henri Bedimo.

Another good goal by Cameroon. Really good play on the left by Nyom, a little bit of luck in it, but nevertheless, good skill and then Marcelo, who has been really poor this tournament, switches off again and Joel Matip has such an easy finish. Really poor defending from Brazil. Could they go out?

You won't have to wait too long, as Brazil will probably be playing Chile in the last sixteen.

These 2 sides are shockingly bad.

Can any team at this tournament defend.

What on earth was the goal keeper doing there?

Absolutely outstanding from Neymar again! clap Wonderful skill to come inside and he has the pace to get beyond the full back and then a finish like that, fantastic pass and run from Neymar, great goal. Player of the tournament so far?

It really wasn't. If that's absolutely outstanding, you have low standards. I would facepalm the keeper some more but can't be bothered.

If anything, that's bad news for Brazil because now Fred will stay in the team. Tap in is about the only thing Fred could manage, looked offside too.

Brazil where all right, but, the scoreboard is a little kind. Goalkeeping error, offside goal, defensive lapse from a team mentally on the plane home. Not really a masterclass, or anything resembling one.

Once Mexico came at them they bottled it. But had they committed when the winger put that ball across the 6 yard box, just after Mexico scored, then we may be talking of a different team facing Holland. Three men stood and watched a perfect cross without gambling.

Brazil still looking very ordinary and Holland play a Mexico side who have looked the best of Group A...this being a Mexico side that was called the worst ever or something along those lines by a fair few people before hand.

Chile will fancy there chances of upsetting the home nation who look very poor at the back especially when under pressure something the Chileans will do all game long; pressure the ball and harass the player on it...Mexico did it and Brazil struggled. I fancy Chile to come through that game 2-1 winners.

Onto today's games..think we see just how ordinary Italy & Uruguay are today as they play out a relatively dour 1-1 draw. For me this group was there for the taking but we made so many basic errors which Costa Rica managed to avoid doing and look where they are! Think the surprise team will carry on surprising and they will pick up a 2-1 win England sending us home in disarray.

In the other Group I expect a good game between Japan and Columbia with the former having most of the ball but Columbia doing what they love to do and hitting on the break...2-1 in that one. Meanwhile I expect Ivory Coast to have plenty of difficulties breaking down a Greece side who could go through but don't have enough arsenal up top to really make a stab of it.

Italy 1-1 Uruguay
Costa Rica 2-1 England
Columbia 2-1 Japan
Ivory Coast 2-0 Greece

Are there any good teams at the tournament Owen? Whistle

On another day Brazil would have caned Mexico. How many David Marshall-esque saves did Ochoa pull out? I still think they're the team to beat. No non-South American team has ever won a World Cup on the continent.
