Follow on enforced.
Derbach still off and I would have thought very unlikely to reppear today at least.
Also, word is that Roy has a side strain and so isn't expected to bowl even though he's fielding (and took a fine low slip catch earlier albeit with a juggle).
Dunn, Tremlett, Batty and Ansari are going to have to earn their corn. At least the temperature has dropped and there's some cloud cover.

Sounds like a tough day's cricket today - and quite likely tomorrow with only 4 front line bowlers. The interview with Stuart Barnes suggests that the pitch is taking some spin - so let's hope Batty and Ansari can get among the wickets again.

Re: Surrey vs Leicestershire LV=County Championship
Corporal - after the first hour this morning, yes it was pretty tough going but we stuck at it well and have a reasonable chance of winning tomorrow.
However, for all the deserved flak he gets, we're going to miss Dernbach assuming, as seems likely, he can't bowl tomorrow. If Roy can't bowl either due to an apparent side strain, our options are going to be very restricted. Tremlett only has limited capacity and seemed stiff an hour or so before stumps. A lot is certainly going to depend on Dunn (do watch out on Surrey tv for the run out from him) and the spinners.
As it was school kids' day at the Oval (thousands of 'em!), spectators weren't allowed on the field to look at the wicket. However, Barnes' comments about it taking spin don't surprise me. One ball from Ansari turned into Robson and really leaped up at him almost giving a catch to slip. Hopefully, a few more like that tomorrow.
For the second early evening running, excellent that we dismissed Robson shortly before the end. He scores very quickly with a mix of cuts and drives. If he had lasted half a day more, that would have made the odds on a draw much shorter.

Angus Robson seems a very promising talent. I hope Leicestershire can keep hold of him. They've lost too many good young players to richer counties in the past.
Early wickets will be the key tomorrow I feel as Surrey's bowling resources are so stretched and the four bowlers are bound to tire.

Ansari getting every opportunity at the moment to develop his bowling...
Wonder who will serve as fill in bowler where needed tomorrow. Solanki used to bowl a certain amount, but hasn't done so recently. I have some recollection of Burns once taking quite a few wickets in an innings - possibly for 2nd XI or maybe Banstead! Don't think Amla will be wanting to bowl.

Unfortunately not at the ground today but having the odd peek at cricinfo.
Great start to the day. 3 wickets already, 1 to Clive and 2 to Nora. Leics are now 50 or so behind with Cobb and O'Brien at the crease. Just one of those and then (on paper!) there isn't that much to come.
Assuming Leics don't cave from here, they should be about level at lunch. As long as we get them all out by tea, that should give us enough time to chase down any total required. Looking good but ... well, if you're on this thread, you know ....

Having shown surprising restraint, Shreck hits Dunn for three successive boundaries and four in the over to take Leics into the lead ....

Well, I suppose I was right as Charlie goes in for a very late lunch on a run a ball 49 not out. No way did I think he would still be batting at this time though!
Leics lead by 53 with 1 wicket remaining. We would all have settled for that at 11 o'clock this morning but very concerning that we've allowed this last wicket pair to so far put on 79. Tremlett needs to show that he's not just a batsman and send a stump cartwheeling!

Re: Surrey vs Leicestershire LV=County Championship
Despite the Shreck / Naik wobble, a very comprehensive win. Fine team performance with several good or better individual contributions.
Two 10 wicket wins on the bounce is certainly good going but I'm sure a harder test will be presented by Hants next time. Batsmen, keeper and spinners pick themselves for that but harder to call for the seamers. Curran, Linley and Meaker all on the way back whilst this match crocked Dernbach and probably also took something out of Tremlett and Dunn. Anyway, time will tell on that - let's enjoy tonight! Well done guys.

Cheers Jimbob. Sorry a bit late to the party.
Surrey showing a real bit of tenacity when the going got tougher at key points during the match.
Just watching the highlights of yesterday's play. Couple of Leics batsmen looked aghast to be given out. Not sure I was too keen on "third degree" Burns running up to the batsmen and trying to claim a catch when the ball lodged behind batsman's pads. Couldn't see from pics whether he had a twinkle in his eye!

Meaker took 5 for 54 for the 2nd XI today, so it sounds as though he might be close to match fit for first team action. In the past I feel he has sometimes used his first match or two back after injury to attempt to regain his rythmn. Hopefully with the emergence of Dunn and Curran, Meaker will only be picked when he is fully ready.

Re: Surrey vs Leicestershire LV=County Championship
Brilliant win again, I have to admit after yesterday I thought this would end as another frustrating draw but well done to Zaf and Batty who continue their good form. Ansari is having a storming season, averaging 29 with the ball and 63 with the bat!
Not sure what the fitness is like for the bowlers but Tremlett could probably do with a rest and Dernbach I assume is out (a good thing imo). Maybe Edwards will come back in (is he fit?) and I assum Meaker will play as he's played a couple of seconds games now. Probably Meaker, Edwards and Dunn. Or maybe Kapil will make a reappearance?

Re: Surrey vs Leicestershire LV=County Championship
Wondering whether Kapil may have a problem bowling at the moment. In the current 2nd XI match against Middlesex he didn't bowl at all in Middlesex first innings.
Meanwhile, Viscount and Edwards anxious to underline their batting credentials Viscount just dismissed for 52 after a partnership of 78 with Edwards.

I think you're right Corporal . Kapil hasn't bowled for the twos since the 1st June when he only bowled 2.3 overs and Michael Rippon completed his third over.
