Not had that much fun watching football for a while.

Robben taken the p*1ss out the spanish keeper and central defenders was literally hilarious.

Really not seen that Westy. Didn't look totally shot last season so might not be a bad shout.

Rodwell to Sunderland is rumoured this morning, for £10m.
If he's fit he's a really decent player so that's a good signing. The sort of player Villa should be trying to get in fact.
Watching Rodwell go, Hangeland to Palace....
Villa should be picking these players up. So frustrating

True MPB.

We're gonna be in for another tough old season.

Lerner not close to selling.

Heard Moses on season loan, failing that Sinclair.

Wouldn't surprise me if we get neither.

Vlaar having talks this week.

Hopefully he will stay.

Sinclair would be a good signing, causes problems for sides. Hard to tell how signings turn out really. The Premiership has become become pretty unpredictable now for say top 7 or 8 downwards.

I'd be amazed if we don't go down this season. As you say West, Lerner is nowhere near finding a buyer, and is blatently not investing before selling. Everyone else is improving = not good

You look at Everton who have been trying to find a buyer forever, and are a much more attractive prospect than Villa right now. It could be a long long time before Lerner gets his wish

West Ham? I think they are a truly dreadful team with a shaky owner/manager relationship. You only need two worse teams than yourself. Burnley being one, and Southampton have had all their talent asset stripped.

You've got to be gutted if you're a Saints fan. The Shaw sale was really good business even if he turns out to be a world beater. You can see why Lallana wanted a big move and again it's pretty good money.
But the rest of the sales are just a huge kick in the teeth. If they get off to a bad start hard to see a way back.
Id love to see West Ham go down, one of my least favourite sides, hate all the academy of football garbage spouted, and I can't stand Fat Sam.

More chat about Eto'o to Sunderland today.
You have to wonder why a guy as rich as him would choose us for a move, why not an Italian, Spanish or French club.
Wonder if he's ever had a wander around the town? Doubt it somehow.

Can't see why anyone would want Eto'o, scores some goals but a brain-dead selfish idiot.

Can't honestly see that anyone outside Liverpool, Manchester, Norf London and the Fulham Road can be confident of avoiding the drop.

Actually think that Burnley may be a surprise package.

At the other end of the scale is the Saints who look like they're being looted, in the same way it seems Blackpool was except times ten.

Watching the Arthus Bertrand "Earth from the air " film. Amazing to watch, I've got one of his books and would recommend them and have seen his exhibition at the Natural History Museum. The guy is a genius.
The film is really interesting, we really are doing our utmost to f:ck up the planet in so many different ways. Actually makes me sad to wonder what awaits my kids in the future.

Bizarre transfers, Reina to Bayern? Why, no chance of playing. Go to a side where you'll play Pepe!! 31 is no age for a keeper, madness to accept bench warming.

I would not be surprised if Southampton have a few more kids to bring on next season. Goalkeepers always seem to be happy as number 2. But maybe reina is not getting much interest from a good team. Why play for a mid table team on lower wages when you can get the odd game and win trophies and earn a good salary at ine if the biggest teams in the world.

You might win a squad medal but if you don't play what's it worth, Neuer barely misses a game.
If you want to pick up some cash as a bench warmer fair enough but can't see much joy in it myself.

He's done enough in his career, probably realises Liverpool aren't likely to challenge this year, might have gone stale, might fancy an easy couple of years in Munich. Hard to turn it down, agreed it would be hard not playing but he's had a good career, maybe he just fancies an easy one.

Trouble is, he can't win. If he stays at Liverpool, he gets accused of showing no ambition.

31 is young for a keeper these days. I can't believe a decent club wouldn't take him as first choice.
Anyway it is what it is, just seems a waste.

I'm surprised too, 31 is young, but it's kind of a catch 22. Top clubs already have top keepers. Probably should have left years ago.

Big clubs dont neec a goalkeeper it seems. He is also on 90k I think. And Rodgers doesnt rate him, though mignolet isnt much better in my view. I thought he had a chance of going back to Barcelona. I dont see anywhere in europe he will get a good salary and be at a decent club. Unless he goes to turkey or Russia.

Be interesting to see what happens at Chelski. Cech was in the PFA team last year and Courtois rated best young keeper in the world.
Be interesting to see how the chosen one handles that one.

I think Reina blew it with Rodgers when he announced a couple of years back that he wanted out to Barca. Liverpool went to buy Mignolet to replace him and then Barca never came in with the bid, so Rodgers was left with two decent keepers on big money. Obviously the one to move had to be Reina (who i think is actually the better keeper) and so off on loan he went. I suspect the relationship now isn't great.

That said, i do agree why go to Bayern. Surely he could go to somewhere like Arsenal and play every week.

Could be Guardiola told him something we don't know. Neuer has been linked with Real Madrid before and now it's probably more relevant than ever as Casillas may be on his way out.

Probably he didn't want to go from one team who never wins anything to another team that doesn't win anything.

Bayern is a bigger pull than any team in the EPL. Can't blame him at all.

Real Madrid have just bought Keylor Navas, the Costa Rican keeper.

Davie, i assume you mean Ospina, the Columbian keeper, and i hope you're joking. Reina is streets ahead of him and Szchezny

Super, sure he might not win a tonne but surely better to play for a big club like Arsenal than sit on the bench at Bayern

He might be happy to wind down a little.
I'm sure he's being paid a fortune to move there, perhaps he's supremely confident he can sneak in some games, who knows.

He's spent more than was necessary at a team who won nothing of note in his time at Liverpool, unlike a younger professional, you can't blame him for this move when it comes to ambition. Who would/could turn this down?

I will say I think Mignolet is a cracking keeper, was fantastic at Sunderland and I think he been great at Liverpool personally. Still only 26 so only really learned his trade.
Agree would have been a good buy for Arsenal who I think will be there or thereabouts cone the end of the season. But he's the sort of good, solid signing that Wenger doesn't seem keen to make.

Yes diggers, we all feel down in the dumps from time to time but I'm sure a major depressive disorder must be horrible.

I think this quote from Rustin Cohle from 'True Detective' makes a lot of sense: "I think human consciousness is a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self-aware. Nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself. We are creatures that should not exist by natural law. We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self, that accretion of sensory experience and feelings, programmed with total assurance that we are each somebody, when in fact everbody’s nobody."

Great show by the way.
