If United spend £40m on Di Arrhoea, that is money flushed down the bog.

I quite like Di Maria.
My assumption would be that they'd return him to the wing of course, he doesn't look like he'd get away with CM in the Premier League.

If Di Maria plays CM, United can kiss a top half finish goodbye. He's a pure offensive winger, no defence capable, or a pure AM, no defence capable. He's no upgrade on Young, Nani or Valencia.

I thought Di Maria flattered to impress as a winger at Madrid. Impressive last season as a CM, but could he play that in the PL?

Hummels was badly exposed to pace last night. Could he be okay with Smalling and Shaw either side of him? Jones at RB, instead of that punk Rafael.

Vidal and Herrera ahead of them. Then Januzaj, Fellaini and Rooney ahead and RVP up top.

None too shabby.

Oh an RVP said that there'll be some Dutch players joining United. I reckon Van Gaal see's RVP as he's man on the pitch and discuss transfers, tactics, etc with him.

De Vrij, Depay, Blind?

All three would be excellent, although Blind would be a squad player as there's no way he gets in at either CB, LB or DM (if Vidal signs).

His goal against Brazil was amazeballs. Totes amazeballs.

I'm just curious to see who would actually choose ITV given the choice. There must be someone here that did.

I might do a poll on the football section to see the general board consensus.

I flicked over to ITV for 30 seconds to see who was commentating. And then turned back to BBC.

Does that count Sod?

Who was commentating? Was it Tyldsley and Townsend?

I quite like Sam Matterface when he's on but he's not going to be their lead commentator for a long old time I'd imagine.

I legitimate thought Danny Murphy was Mark Lawrenson until it was pointed out to me. Somehow being almost exactly the same at the start of your career as a guy who can't be arsed anymore doesn't seem a good thing.

I still don't understand what Lawrenson is bringing to the table anymore, aside from snarky comments.

Murphy was ok, with a tendency to be a bit monotonous at times. Better than Clarke Carlisle though and Keown too.

Jonathan Pearce has jumped the shark for me.

I watched BBC pundits, and watched ITV commentary. Clive Tyldesley is the best commentator imo. Townsend is a douche, but used to play for Albion, so I can tolerate him. He's still a country mile better than Lawro. They should have booted him out with Hansen, who for some reason only looked down at the table when talking...cuckoo!

Jonathan Pearce will always be remembered for me now with his inability to understand the goal line technology.

I've always liked Lawro, find him fairly witty at times with his old moaner routine.

It's a Happy Days reference which sometimes I forget most people may not get. It's used when something is rubbish or no longer believable, just like when the Fonz jumped over a shark. Killed Happy Days after that.

You can also used "nuked the fridge" as a reference to the latest Indiana Jones film.

Either way, he did not give me a boner.
