I'd probably go for Cazorla over the Ox as well.

That was the rumour before the World Cup. If Sanchez does come then Arsenal will be overloaded in the wide attacking midfielder position. Wouldn't surprise me if Podolski left before Santi, as he's only got two years left on his contract.

Arsenals issues in big games were 2 fold. 1. A surplus of good players, lack of great players and 2. mentality, they don't believe they're at that level.
Sanchez helps the first, and as with Ozil can the second.
cant agree, every team needs balance and the problem arsenal have got is they all can play only one way. when they play badly they dont win, because they havent got the ability or players like a chelsea or city do to grind out results.
simply putting all the best players down and a team sheet doesnt work, look at reals galaticos. they were a infinitely better team when makelele was in the team over some of his bigger named teams mates. why? because he gave protection and balance which enabled other team mates freedom to attack
were not saying every team has to have a tiote, but they do need balance. something which arsenal didnt have last season and was shown when they played better and even equal strength teams

Hutton still manages to get a game for Scotland. There's obviously no Scottish (or Ugandan born player with a Scottish granny) RBs in the world.

He'd get chances at Inter, would have to work a little harder sure, but its champions league football, easier route into the England setup, opportunities to play for these sorts of clubs don't come around often!
But no little old Tommy will stay in his comfort zone again, I'd imagine daddy Paul told him to

Everything that's wrong with young English players (and British players to some extent). How many foreign players playing in their country's second division would turn down Inter to sign for a mid-table/relegation fighting team?

It's Europa League football for Inter Olly Also if you look at their squad he's going to be a sub more often then not.

Kind of like choosing Malaga over Spurs (to some extent)
But if you can get similar money, more chance of a game and stay in your own country then you likely do. Not sure its an easier route to the England squad too.

Why he had a choice of 2 Europa League clubs and is going to get more time at Hull then Inter probably on more money too the Inter is seemingly aiming at more established players like Vidic etc.

If you're seriously comparing Inter/Hull as equals then I'm sorry but its a complete #headsgone
I'm not sure he'll get great amounts of game time at hull compared to what he'd get at inter, Hull for one sometimes don't play with wingers, and two just paid 8m for one and have Brady/Aluko/Boyd already.

Which he'll also get with Hull to be pedantic, it's an odd choice but i'd guess he's done it for footballing and personal reasons rather than money but who knows.

I think the 2 year contract probably holds some sway. Easy out.
Funny you'd think his Dad would tell him not to go. Considering, you know, his successful spell at Inter

In fairness Paul Ince left Inter so that Tom could grow up in England so he might be following his dad's lead in that regard, he's got a young kid now hasn't he?

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
In all seriousness, who gives a **** about Tom Ince. Yeah, he wanted to stay because of the young family he's got now. As for Ince, absolute stagnated career, done nothing for Palace & acts like he's some kind of world star because of this Inter deal. Quite frankly don't see what the fuss is about.
I hope this Janmaat deal goes through because I've just read that the shocking Carl Jenkinson is being touted around, now Debuchy has arrived & Newcastle are heavily linked.

Someone please make this happen & throw in Bendtner and it'll be hilarious. Apparently Debuchy has had his medical and will be done by end of the week

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Dont think Campbell will score enough goals in the Prem to play there for a team like the Toon.
Graham Hunter was very interesting on the Monday Night Club. Said that Di Maria is considered someone Madrid will sell to fund any big move. They like James Rodriguez but Monaco are a very hard club to get to sell. But Di Maria is a bit sick of being this pawn for Madrid and Hunter thinks Di Maria to Man United is definitely a strong possibility if he is sold.
Also very confident on Sanchez to Arsenal, Liverpool more likely to come back for Tello, Suarez to be about 75m.
Also worth listening to on his summary of Ander Herrera. Wants to play deeper, has got by on his own talent and not coaching talent making him more, eager to learn and will thrive under the United pressure.

Gotta be honest from what I've seen of Campbell (albeit I didn't see the Uruguay game, his best) I'm not that impressed.
But you can't go wrong with a loan, so long as you bring in someone on a permanent as well and don't rely on the loan ala WBA/Everton with Lukaku

Graham Hunter has said tonight that Madrid want to offload Di Maria and he thinks he will go to utd. What a signing he would be to say the least. Also seen reports that Juve want to sell to utd rather than Bayern if they came in as Utd aren't in the CL. Somehow, not being in europe may play into our hands, who would have thought!

Everyone will be rushing to avoid the top 4 then this season, looking at the players wanting to join Going to be very interesting to see what formation LVG is using this season.
Yeah, I wouldn't want J. Campbell leading the line on his own but it's a decent loan. Think he's more effective slightly wider, we have Cisse up top but he's hardly prolific & he's shot of confidence. We need a complete forward who's going to bang 15 goals, like Remy & Ba have done so.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
It makes me sad that Williamson is part of that team.
We'll be a very lucky league if we have Sanchez, Di Maria and Vidal joining. We'll be lucky to watch just one of those play. I expect Liverpool will make some big money moves on players with pace and potential.
At the other end of the scale, WBA and Villa appear to be doing battle for worst signings of the summer. Senderos may soon be one upped by Hutton.

Haha! Moyes knew what he was doing! but it is similar to what Monaco and PSG managed to do. If you bid big money for players, they would rather see them go to a club not a threat to you in Europe than strengthening say a bayern or a madrid. Utd can offer big money and big wages, so we'll wait and see but if did get vidal and di maria i'd be over the moon. Rather Hummels come over di maria if i had to choose though. Formation wise, probably simialr to what he plays with holland, maybe with 2 behind the striker rather than two up top to accommodate mata and rooney:
Vidal (?) herrera
Januzaj Mata Rooney Di Maria/Depay (?)
RVP

Why? You think he's sh**? He was awarded the most improved player award last year. I'll admit, he's not great but he was actually one of our better performers last year in the back-line, seeing as Colo's head was in Argentina, Yanga M'biwa was shocking & S. Taylor was always injured & inconsistent. I'm surprised the old 'James Tomkins to Newcastle' rumours aren't popping up this summer.

He switched to the formation he's been using about a month before the tournament because of injuries, he'll probably use something a lot more like 4-3-3. Will be interesting to see where Rooney fits in that.Liam wrote:Formation wise, probably simialr to what he plays with holland

Don't know. The formation is working well with Holland. It'd be perfect for utd really as it means Mata and rooney play behind RVP. Whether it'd work is another story but it solves that problem.

I can see where Angel is coming from, and as bright a star as Rodriguez is, he doesn't add more for the squad than di Maria... No one, except maybe Ronaldo, has or does. I'd be gutted to lose him, and it feels like Makalele all over again. English Premiership should suit him, though, the kid has an engine, and skill level of note.
Has Khedira gone yet? I might have a few beers to celebrate! How much have we suckered Arsenal out of?

I don't hate Khedira, but he is a parasite, serves no purpose in our squad... Serves even less of a purpose in that German midfield. If you can tell me what he can do, that you wouldn't think is a standard requirement for even the most mediocre of footballers...

Yeah he has. Dunno why people are in shock though
With a young family it might not be that he wants to move that over to another country. At least with Hull he is going to be playing at a premier league level, and who knows if he puts in the performances id wager he's more likely to get noticed my the international set up as opposed to if he moved to serie a
Well either that or hull offered more money for wages
