Fulham have agreed to pay 11m for Ross McCormack.

Surely FFP is now just being completely ignored by all? Silly Season is definately here.

Of course it is, and while the penalty is what is it will continue to be ignored. Whats the point of a fine when the teams who will constantly break the FFP rules are the ones who can pay said fine. Champions league revenue will more than cover it as well if you don't have oil money

Don't get the hate for Khedira, what do you expect from him playing alongside Ronaldo, Bale, Di Maria at Madrid & Ozil, Muller & Gotze in the national side? He's not going to stand out & produce fireworks, that's not his job. He gives those players the freedom to express themselves & he covers the midfield, with a great engine & is a good strong tackler. Funny, he's been injured for such a long time, but has come back, has already won a Champions League medal & will probably go on to win the World Cup. Both domestic & international managers recognise his strengths & his importance, shame some other people don't. #clueless.

Wilfredo Caballero joins Man City as No.2 to Joe Hart. Nice little pay day coming over to England for Willy, to essentially sit on the bench.

just an incredible fee for McCormack. I've always rated him and has scored goals consistently at championship level. But when he's only going for 1m less than what Spurs paid for Erikson and what Swansea paid for Bony it's absolutely ludicrous.

£11m for McCormack?!
He was our only decent player, and the only one likely to score goals consistently, but £11m?? I'd have happily taken less than half of that for him!

Hardly clueless when Jogi prefers Lahm in the centre of the park. Or when Carlo prefers Modric and Alonso in the centre to any combination that includes Khedira. He isn't even the tackler you claim he is, Alonso's tackle stats generally pip his. His got a decent enough engine, but thats about it. He's really just not that good.

I don't think he's a great player or anything, but he isn't as bad as you make it sound. I just see him as a functional player that is a decent and solid addition to any squad. He's certainly better than plenty of other players around in his position.
He's been injured almost all of last season yet Carlo trusted him enough to start him in the CL final. Jogi is just trying to imitate Pep by putting Lahm in midfield which I think is a mistake.

Don't think Alonso's suspension played a role in him starting do you? Lahm is a better midfielder than Khedira, and I won't be surprised if he starts there tonight. He's a better passer, tackler, and reader of the game, and probably not too far behind in terms of engine, either.

Okay, I wasn't aware Alonso was suspended but either way, Carlo hasn't really had the option to use him much last season because of the injury.
Lahm is the better player no doubt, but I think Lahm's strongest position is at FB and Germany would be best off playing him there with Sami in MF. Playing Lahm in MF was just Pep trying to show he's doing things differently.

Gotta say that if the little pr!ck wanted to play for Spurs instead of Liverpool because they had a better nightlife, one must question his dedication to the game.
Cue him tearing our defence apart for Carroll to nod in at the back post.....aarrgghh!!

I think we've bid €12m and £9m (ish), btw. The release clause is the next step, so if we bid again it'll be the £12m needed.

bit gutted we weren't in for sanchez. 30mil is a great deal. not sure if its going to make as big a difference to arsenal as its not addressing there weaknesses but cant argue that there getting a good deal, although im not sure if he could cut it playing as a lone striker in the prem
surely the prospect of nani and young never playing for us again is worth 30mil on its own

Looks like Adidas have won the shirt deal with Utd at a rumoured 75m a year for the next ten years.

Thank god. The nike shirts have been awful
Anyhow back on transfers. Been having a bit of a chuckle at the ITK accounts on Twitter. Apparently we're signing di maria, vidal and hummels. We may very well do when I get the FM when its released later this year, but dont see us signing any of them in real life
Also Evra on his way to Juventus. Again via so called ITK accounts

Di Marzio has said for months that Evra and Juventus have had contact, Juve want him, United made the extension due to the clause, but Juve are still interested after United signed Shaw

Good signing for them. Pelle probably following soon to replace Lambert. Just hope all the departures and the money they've got for them doesn't end up getting in the way of their own young players.Nakatomi Plaza wrote:Dusan Tadic to Southampton is done. Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
After Torres (prime), Forlan, Aguero & Falcao, not sure Mandzukic is fitting into that role or style of play. No pace either on the counter, I'd be disappointed with that deal, especially for £18m. Negredo would of been a better option.
Tadic created most chances & had most assists in Eredivisie. Also, more prolific than Lallana & considerably cheaper. Job done by Koeman. Lallana won't be missed in my opinion.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
dont think negredo would have been available for less than 18mil considering city paid 16mil for him. and wouldnt have added any pace either
costa isnt exactly lighting either and more of the style of mandzukic so i think should fit in well

Theyve moved well. If he adapts.
I think Mandzukic will score them goals. That is nearly all that will matter.

For a free, Bendnter is about as good as Villa will do tbf. He could chip in with 5-8 goals next year, would be a decent return

Rubbing what in John? Had a good game... but to suggest he ran it is... humorous... Kroos had a far better game. Played a role in the first three goals... Khedira, by your reasoning is a fantastic addition in case you ever go 3-0 up in 15 minutes.

i couldnt care less either way but khedira was very impressive today, anybody saying anything else is clutching at straws. had a hand in more than a few goals and while yes brazil were woeful it took a good team to exploit that. something which no other team has come close to yet

Kroos apparently all wrapped for Madrid according to Marca, at a steal too, £25 million (£6.5m p.a wages) Morata sold for €22m, fantastic piece of business by Real, as he only had one year left on his contract... Every now and then Perez shows the financial acumen that made him a billionaire.
