Wimbledon Day 9
First topic message reminder :
Well let us draw breath from yesterday's results!
What a day of play we have...And I will be at work missing it all! Bollox!
We have on CC
Halep v Lisicki
Murray v Dimitrov
Federer v Wawrinka
On C1
Bouchard v Kerber
Djokovic v Cilic
Raonic v Kyrgios
Who will stand victorious come Sunday?

Very disappointing.
Yeah almost as poor as the England football team
Have you recovered yet?

Re: Wimbledon Day 9
it's been such a disappointment from Murray this. I wouldn't have minded him losing if he'd played decent and Dimitrov had just played lights out, like Kyrgios-Nadal, but Dimitrov hasn't even had to play particularly well. He's moved well, made sure he made Murray hit a lot of balls and put away a few short replies, but it's not been a special performance from Dimitrov by any stretch of the imagination.

This is awful. I can't believe how poor he's playing.
He's not even making Dimitrov take it, he's surrendering. I can't remember ever being this disappointed with Murray.

I remember what I was going to say now. He's hit like Federer and moved like Djokovic. Not a lot you can do against that even if you are playing well.

I can't fully judge as am working but hats off to Dimi - the better player has won on the day. Murray (it would seem) was just not up to the task today. I cannot judge but was this another passive display?? If so then I have no sympathy.

The crowd don't like Dimitrov. Most lukewarm winning applause I've ever heard.

Re: Wimbledon Day 9
it ends, rather symbolically, on yet another UE off the Murray FH. Well played Dimi, a good solid match
Murray, well not sure what to say really. The spirit seemed willing, but the flesh incredibly weak today, right from the start just didn't look capable of producing a decent level of tennis. Wonder if there was anything wrong with him physically, or if it was just an extremely extremely bad day at the office...

Yep, made over £1500 from betting on this World Cup thus far, so think I'm baring up!
Well played Dimitrov. He's absolutely gorgeous as well.

Yes, too passive, and even his defence wasn't working very well.

it was just poor all around. His service rhythm which had been so good until now was all off, he returned as badly as I've ever seen him do, and sort of fluctuated between hitting wild UEs (about three times as much as Dimi) or just putting the ball in with no venom and allowing Dimitrov to swing at it.

Dimitrov saying that he felt Andy was a little off even from the warm-up, interesting.

His worst Wimbledon defeat ever Craig. He was passive, but it was the lack of fight that astounded me. I have to question how much he wants it now. The bbc will be sycophantic about Dimi no doubt, but I've seen Dimitrov play way better.
It was a surrender. Never been this disappointed with him.

Thanks JHM and MfC.... Sounds like a shocker. Perhaps lucky I was working then. Murray out of top 8 then. Hopefully, it will act as a kick up the pants. Credit to Dimi though - he got the job done.

Re: Wimbledon Day 9
Well done to Dimitrov fully deserved. Just don't know what was wrong with Murray. Very rarely showed much energy or fight. Made loads of bad UE's. Missed first set but from what I saw Dimitrov won easily without having to play lights out tennis. Just played consistently making sure he was keeping the ball in a bit like Murray has done so often.

Didnt you enjoy 2005-2008? They were still around back then it's just tennis moved to favour their way of playing

If he plays like he did today a 9 or 10 ranking is about right. He really needs to start beating top players 10 -15 again.

Re: Wimbledon Day 9
When was the last time we had this many upsets in a slam
2nd seed gone
3rd seed gone
1st seed hanging on at the moment
4rth or 5th seed one of them will be out as well.
Not to forget rest of the top 10 seeds were out even before the 2nd week.
