He picked a squad that got as far as it did through kicking the opposition till it couldn't chase the ball anymore and horrendous officiating.

At the end of the day the team/squad he picked really grew during the confed cup and battered Spain. He was always going to keep it together.
It is fanciful to suggest a load of good but not great players replacing the only good players in the side would have made a difference.

Phil's probably said to them "Put in a shift or you're walking home". And there's no guarantee they'd make it out of the stadium.

Says a lot about their attitude to sport. Pathetic, weak and annoyingly predictable.
Someone needs to be sent off and a FIFA needs to initiate a full inquiry into this behaviour.
And while they're at it - take away the WCs from Russia and Qatar and give them to England and Australia.
Two very respectable countries that fully appreciate sport and sportsmanship.

Klose and Muller would have about 5 WC goals between them if they were English. Depressing.

Imagine playing centre half with David luiz, it would be an absolute nightmare.
You'd turn round for a second to tell the left back to tuck in and he'd be gone sprinting into midfield to try tackle someone.
Needs a leash.

Thiago Silva can't even escape him at club level now.

Schurrle on for Klose.
Neuer is probably glad he has something to do. Expecting him to go for a corner in 90th min.

Just one of those moments in sport where everything goes wrong for one side and right for another. Unfortunately for Brazil, it came at the second worst possible time.

That's not just a horrible statistic for Brazil, it's a pretty bad sign for the future of both these countries...@ESPNStatsInfo wrote:This is the second time in #WorldCup history a team has scored 5 goals in the first 30 minutes of a game (Yugoslavia vs. Zaire - 1974)

I take back what I said about Silva, he must be a god in defence to held them together for so long, hell we have Jagielka and Cahill in defence but can defend better than this.
