The Dutch living very dangerously at the back with those short passes despite the Argies constantly bearing down on them.

Martens Indi deserved that yellow card, he has really been found wanting again today.

Your a child who knows nothing about the world, continue to solve it's problems from your sofa while doing the square root of nowt and continuing to ignore the issues of the real people.
This though is a debate on the football in the world cup if you want to continue, open a new article in the Off Topic section there. And I'll continue you to show you why the lower class of Brazil are not happy with the WC being held there and why other people were hoping it would shine a lot on the corruption. Unfortunately it hasn't as people ignore it as why should they care if they live in slums they've got a new road out of it.

Kuyt really missed his calling as a wingback. Quality at the position

Well drivel that.
Both teams trying to negate the others best player.
Both limited outside a few players so we get served this dross.
Not sure either of these sides could cope with Germany.

The Argentinian players just look more tactically better and as a team they seem to want to win this match more than Nederland.

I think they just have better players overall so not surprised.
They aren't commiting any men forward.

No they are not in the same league- but they wont get battered by germany- there is no way germany will score more than 1 or 2 of those passes from the 6 yard box in to the back of the net like they did v brazil. These players can be organised and defend and havent got this crazy complex that they can just play attacking players in defense. The germans weren't even challenged in the box and had so much space, it was ridiculous-I am shocked that i didnt hear of a heart attack from pulis and mourinho watching that game if i am going to be honest.Ent wrote:Well drivel that.

Barring a touch, or two, of class from either Robben or Messi, this game has the feel of going all the way to penalties.

yep- hoping for messi as i have him as golden boot. lets see. but tbf he could probably put 4 past the brazilians in the 3rd 4th anyway to just completely end there nation.

I don't think they will suffer a brazil like hammering but can't see them being that competitive.

Germany really aren't anything special against a team with organisation and discipline.

Doesn't say much for Janmaat and Blind when Kuyt is preferred to them, there is very little quality in either team outside of the obvious 3/4.

Still the best team in this tournament. No one is brilliant but they are pretty strong all over the pitch.

I'd say Kroos is brilliant, Neuer is brilliant, Lahm is brilliant, Schweinsteiger is brilliant-ish, and Klose is a brilliant goalscorer. Then you have Hummels, and Muller... I think it's a fantastic team.

Exactly why I tipped them to make the final, at least, before the tournament began.

Re: Rio de Janiero - 2014 Fifa World Cup Thread
Kuyt only played in Blind's spot when Blind was covering for Martins Indi or de Jong. Not that you're wrong about the rest, there's a reason Blind is a starter in about 4 positions on this team.Hammersmith harrier wrote:Doesn't say much for Janmaat and Blind when Kuyt is preferred to them

After the joke that was last night game, am quite happy to see decent defending skills and proper organisation now. Vlaar doing a good job so far.

For such brilliance, they sure have made hard work of some ordinary, if organised sides. Neither side will be as inviting as Brazil were I suspect in the final.

Sign him up Pardew. Janmaat did well there with that block. Think this has ET written all over it.

It's a World Cup, not many teams storm to them.
I think they look very good and last night can only have helped with nerves etc.

The Brazil 2002 team was brilliant, and probably the best world cup team of this millennium, and they made heavy weather of Turkey and had great difficulty overcoming Belgium.

Michel Vorm is now the only member of the Dutch squad that hasn't played in this tournament.

Vlaar could teach David Luiz a thing or two about the basics of defending.
