First topic message reminder :

I can live with diving but when going down on purpose injures a player it's going too far really. You're trying to con the ref and injure someone.

Exactly, thought nothing wrong there. Was surprised it was a German free kick though.
if an out field player did that jumping with his head but kneeded the other trying to get the ball he would have been in serious trouble , in this case the keeper gets the free kick  Erm

The keeper was in his Box, has every right to punch the ball away. Happens all the time in corners. It was an unfortunate collision, nothing more. Certainly no free kick to Germany but a throw in to Argentina. A keeper is not an outfield player and has the right to go for the ball in his box.

No he wouldn't Mysti, only one player made an attempt to play the ball.

I would have to say that for all the pressure and possession that Germany have had, Argentina look the better side and the one more than likely to get a winner.

Dangerous play from the keeper. Any time a keeper knees a player in the the head it's dangerous play. He knew he did wrong and it was written all over his face.

Not as bad as Schmacher in 1982.

There's too much for Schweinsteiger to do without Khedira. Germany just don't look fluid in possession.

Because he has outpaced the German defenders time and time again in the first half and set up some good opportunities. I would bring him more central now though.

The question is here - messi isn't fit.

Could he have come off 20 mins ago or is he right to stay on given what he can do even if he is anonymous for the majority?

I have twice seen keeper take out a player without getting the ball and no penalty being given. Ben Foster playing for Birmingham against Aston Villa was one. The other, I think, was Neuer on Vidic.

Lloris wiped out Ashley Young last season

Should've been a pen all day long but I don't think people actually cared with it being Ashley Young

Pretty sure Neuer is a better footballer than Hoewedes, who constantly looks like he doesn't want the ball.
Germany playing a bit like Arsenal; plenty of possession, but too busy trying to walk the ball in to the net.

I can't say Argentina have clearly deserved to get through any round of this tournament given the way they've played.

Germany had a few dodgy games but bosses the 1/4 and semi.

Argentina can't win it, come on Germany!!
