First topic message reminder :

Seeming as we have such a short turnaround thought I'd stick up a thread

England have added Simon Kerrigan to the squad interestingly. I'd imagine he must be in serious contention, or else what's the point of adding another body?

Duty - I would suggest our immediate target is to be still batting at lunch.

Duty continues to live in a dream world...

England won the toss on a raging green top and they couldn't the job done despite 'having the better bowlers'

Winning the toss on this pitch and then failing to get a lead of 150/200 runs shows how poor England are even on a doctored pitch.

Gerry switch over and watch the golf- you will only be disappointed when you see England take that 150 lead

Prior's gonna get fifty here scrappily, and they'll continue to play him despite not being fit and he'll continue to drop chances and not score many runs, eugh

Disappointed? I'm not English so I'll just laugh at England's failings.

I agree with this sentiment- Its annoying. On one hand we need him to stand up- On the other is it best for the long term!!

I'd rather have Stokes 7, Buttler 8 in all honesty, if this is the #newera

Plunkett throwing the bat at it, good, what a night watchman should do the morning after

Very surprised Bunny hasn't been bowled more

Prior gone....

Is that Good or bad?

Only Good if he gets dropped.

Prior as a senior batter shouldn't get out like that- he should be the one controlling the game..Leave the smashing to plunks and broad etc. Just more proof he needs to go

Prior picked out the only Indian slip field who's caught everything thus far(Dhawan). I had money on Dhoni dropping that...

Aside from the fluke hundred in Perth, Stokes hasn't ever looked like scoring runs at Test level.

His place is under threat.

Stokes does look horribly out of nick with the bat, not helped by batting him so low...

And by that i mean  i think hes a player who thrives off more responsibility rather than less...

Kumar gets another, and england are in serious trouble in this test, like ive been saying. India's seamers have bowled very well

Why did they give this Moores chap another chance?

seems what was needed was a completely new start, new captain and new approach.

Someone is not letting him play his natural game. He was viscous when I stood behind him in the nets taking Bres' throwdowns. He's definitely got the talent but I fear he is not being given a more roving commission or is being misused or dampened down by Cook.

What a naughty naughty boy, robbed Plunkett a chance of a 100.

24 ahead.....that's wht I said would be the most likely case 20 to 30 lead for Eng and Ind will be happy.

It's nearly even scores ( but Ind ahead on match situation)

whatever India score.....Eng would have to score in more uneven and slightly spinning conditions.

India badly need a support bowler for Bhuvi.....Pankaj must come in...he is a swing bowler in the same vein a bit faster

India avoided any damage before lunch. England took a narrow lead but who know, this may prove to be vital.

From Indian point of view, I think Dhawan and Vijay should utilise the afternoon session well. With sun in the sky there will be little movement compared to morning session and there what Indian looks to pile on some runs. Pujara Vijay are showing enough valor against this English attack, so they should do the tiring of English Best bowlers and then runs can be scored off Stokes, and Plunkett.
Whatever I said are far away from the scorecard in the first innings but, it would be dangerous to go after anderson or broad. They leak runs but also give break through. Hope India to do well.

When an Indian misses a delivery that just misses the stumps athers says well judged- when its the other way round its well bowled.

These commentators are a joke. How can your home commentary team be so biased against there own. We really have turned into a PC gone mad country

But india will have patience with him, he has shown enough abilities in ind and outside and this is a long series and he will do well sooner

Over rate is shocking today.

Firstly India bowled at 13 over per hour this morning.

Now England are 5 overs down.

Cook will be banned if they lose more than 3 overs tonight
