Stephanie Meadow declares for Ireland
http://thescore.thejournal.ie/stephanie-meadow-olympics-golf-1571581-Jul2014/
Good news for Irish golf and the Irish Olympic team. She finished third in her first ranking event at the recent US Open at Pinehurst and is currently ranked 83 in the world.
Will be interesting to see how she progresses as she looks a decent prospect in the womens game.

Its amazing how little difference here seems to be in ability between amateurs and pros in women's golf. Take this girl, clearly very good but I think she's 22 so not one of the 13 year old wonder kids, comes straight into a major and finishes third. I know Rose grabbed a 4th at 17 but by and large the amateurs struggle to make the cut in most majors.

I knew you would say that even if you have heard of her? That said obviously womens golf isnt particularly popular.

Given where she's spent so much of her youth and university years she might just as well represent the USA. Probably speaks with a McDool accent.

Let's not mention something being "thick" in regards to Ireland Guns

Why not? There are thick people everywhere. You come across quite thick sometimes too for example.

Is this aparent "fame" based on old quasi xenaphobic steriotypes of or is there any factual or emperical basis to this opinion?
For example what does the fact that Irish people are considered thick predominantly amongst sections of British society, yourself included, rather than anywhere else tell you? I'm not aware of this perception anywhere else.

Good grief Guns, it was a joke, although judging by the number of rudimentary spelling errors in your post, perhaps not too far from the truth. (that's a joke too before you get you choke on your corned beef hash)

My spelling isnt great. Thankfully spelling isnt a reliable indicator of IQ. There are some remarkable dyslexic people. Richard Branson for example cant spell very well. Sometimes a percieved disadvantage can actually turn out to be an advantage.
Your jokes indicate a high level of ignorance though. Ha ha just kidding, just a joke.

You'll have to excuse super, Guns. Many years of wearing the ancient stone bonnet of the clan MacRealist has impeded the blood flow to his brain, resulting in the many nonsensical statements he tends to come out with.
Ireland is known as 'The Land of Saints and Scholars'.

Does that explain why the "jokes" are exactly the same over and over again.

Patron Saint of All You Can Eat Buffets
I'm getting to like big Shane more and more - he's maturing nicely and as I've mentioned before, is in better shape than he seems on TV.

I like and appreciate that Lowry is at least making an effort to lose weight, albeit he's still obese, he even credited "social media" as being partly responsible.
I don't know if you can include this forum in that, but at least the fat lad is making an effort which is more than many. He should be ashamed that as such a young man his weight was/is so alarmingly high, and he's got a LONG way to go, but he's going in the right direction. Looks like he'll face a life long "monty" type battle against the bacon roll.
No need to thank me Shane. You're welcome.
