Yes, or at least he used to be.

At one time he was chased by Arsenal, but then he picked up a nasty knee injury and he's probably been stunted by it.

Honestly though, it's a bit hard to tell because Allardyce bafflingly prefers Matt Taylor in the middle despite him being more useless than dissolving shoe laces. Collison played sparingly and was often forced out wide on the right.

Play him through the middle consistently and I think he's a premier league level midfielder, and he'll get a few goals here and there.

Really wish the 2 transfer cap wasn't in place, I want to buy loads of cheap players but it restricts doing so and puts the emphasis on spending more as you only have a limited number.

I just don't think the restriction does anything for the league, much prefer to get my wunderkids in rather than the chaff currently there and then try and deal for the other wunderkids that have been brought in, at present we're all just stuck with 18+ players that none of us want whilst no one is willing to part with the 6 to 8 players they're brought in because they're the only decent things they have.

I think there is merit to what you say.

But the large amount of dross was what this league was supposed to be about. It makes tactics more important as you have weaknesses you need to cove for and opposition weaknesses to exploit.

Otherwise we were just in the same league again with the same players etc

A M'Vila and Ganso partnership probably would've dominated this league a few years back

We should make an XI of players overhyped in these leagues.

I don't think Lamela was overhyped to be honest.

He was one of the best players in Italy before his move. He just hasn't taken to England. I'm hoping having an Argie manager will help him and he shows his worth.

Also Mvila was incredible for a couple of seasons at Rennes.

You know what I mean though. Players who haven't lived up to their Euro Division performances.

What this league is very good at is taking a high potential youngster and putting them on a par with high standard established players.

Most are high quality who will get to that level, but aren't there yet

Nilmar and Damiao were often sought after.
I thought Andy Polo would be the next big thing.

Fellaini used to be hugely fought over.
Vermaelen was often the 2nd best centre back after Chiellini.
Howedes then took over as CB for the hipsters.
VDW as the most sought after fullback.
