I think there's too much interference from the class of 90-whatever. They should back off and let van Gaal get on with it. Same with Fergie, although I don't think that will be a problem.

I think you're right. You don't see Liverpool employing all their stars of the 70s and 80s, or Arsenal employing half their invincibles.

They were great players and served the club well, but move on

BUT IT'S THE UNITED WAY

West Ham used to have a way. We've lost our way. I don't think it can be a way again after it's been lost, even for a bit. So if we play nice football again it won't be the West Ham way, but the way the West Ham way used to be.

How often did SAF employ ex United players on his staff. Or Matt Busby for that matter?

Balls is it the United way. No room for sentiment in football. If they want to get back to where United should be, they need to be objective, not sentimental. If a former United player is the best option then great, but if not, then go for the best option

Albion would employ their stars from the 70s but they were all black, and there are no black employees at Albion.

Seriously, in all my years there I never once saw a black steward, bartender, ball boy, programme seller, hot dog vendor, pie flogger, physio, scout, manager, coach, accountant. Players aside, I don't think our club is a fan of minorities.

Interesting if Van Gaal is true to his word, no Vidal until the eve of the start of Serie A. Can't imagine Juve will be keen on that.

I have highlighted in red the part that pertains to my comments. I never once mentioned fans. No club turns fans away, regardless of minority. But it can do more to employ those in minorities, and I don't believe Albion is very good at this.

Soddy was implying that the brown and black people that I seen at the stadium were really white people bruised up because of fighting as the West Midlands is a rough area.

I just named some rough areas in London.

I'd taken the London one. Better fried chicken.

We bought our house in 2009 and I kid you not, the value of it has nearly doubled in 5 years. We spent £170k, its value is now just under £300k with no end in sight. When we re-mortgage later this year our loan to value % will get us the absolute best interest rate possible.

It's insanity at the moment. The paper said that it had been a 20% rise in house prices since this stage last year. It seems unsustainable and yet it sustains...

I'm looking into buying soon but I can't go anywhere near central London. I'm stuck out in Essex.

Maybe the house is built out of poo? It would be alternative art, thus pricey.

Question for you all tomorrow at work, or now if you wish of course.

Who do you think is going to win each of these leagues this season?

Premier League
Championship
Bundesliga
Ligue 1
La Liga
Eredivisie

Morning all.

Lahm retires from Internationals after winning the World Cup. Doesn't get much better

Morning

Why? Still has at least two more tournaments in him.

Who is better Ballack or Schweinsteiger? I'd go with Ballack.

I think they're slightly different players though. If I wanted to control a game I'd have Schweini, if I wanted more attacking impetus then Ballack.

Ballack for me, he was the star man. Schwein is a key cog in a top team.

If I could choose either for Everton, it would be Schwein.

Ballack is more of a match winners, but Schwein would be behind your success in every single game
