I google translated it too, just to make sure I hadn't committed an international crime and the German fuzz were after me.

I don't get emails about wang enlargement these days. Everyone is about the money money money with their bank scams. Spam used to be cool.

I got spammed from an email address called Shagaholic.

I didn't open it just in case, but it could easily have been a carpet lovers support group

My friend used to get inundated with emails from the Um Bongo newsletter.

To this day he doesn't know who signed him up to it.

That doesn't sound like the worst newsletter to get. If it played the song when you opened it, I'd sign up now

I just wonder what they had to write about. I mean it's not exactly a fast moving brand in a sector of great changeability.

Can you guess which other country also sells Um Bongo aside from the UK?

Presumably the newsletter kept you up to date with the Hippo's collecting of different fruits and the Rhino's creative brain coming up with clever names.

How else would you get to know about what was going on way down deep in the middle of the Congo?

I am guessing Um Bongo isn't sold in the Congo, so I'll guess......Russia?

It's not sold in the Congo (or Russia) but the claim they make is only that they drink it, so maybe they get illicit imports via the black market.

I suppose under contract law if you were induced into purchasing it purely based on the fact you thought it was drunk in the Congo then they might be in some legal hot water.

I know the answer if I think about it, as I remember my cousins having it when I went to stay with my aunt and uncle in Lisbon many moons ago

I wouldn't have gone near the drink if they'd said it was drunk in Milton Keynes for example, but the Congo, well that won me over.

No, you are correct, Portugal is the only other place on earth you can procure Um Bongo without having blood on your hands. Out of interest, the jingle in Portuguese would be:

Um Bongo Um Bongo bebem no Congo

I seem to remember the coke tasting sort of like coke, if it was watered down a lot and fizzier than any drink should be.

The novelty of pressing the button to fizz stuff up wore off pretty quickly for me.

Have you seen those super concentrated tiny bottles they do now of drinks. Tiny tiny bottles of Vimto etc that just need 2 drops to make a glass.

They're well expensive compared to normal ones but are quite handy when going somewhere such as football matches with the kids. They do though make ones of some of the still energy drinks so I'm waiting on the Daily Mail to say some kids gone off their nut by downing a bottle.

I reckon you could have a pretty good night out on a super concentrated bottle of Vimto if you did it like a shot.

I do reckon you might be hospitalised too though.

When we played cricket in the playground at school we decided to give ourselves Pakistani nicknames after Khalid Mahmood, the token Pakistani kid who played with us.

I was Azzy, my best mate Matty, there was Nicky, Chinny, Squarey, Indy, Brummy, Fanny and others. Fanny was named because he used to have one of those old ladies' pocket fans for when it was hot Laugh

That makes sense to me now, considering your first name.

Mine is a reference to The Mighty Boosh which I'm not even a big fan of. They called someone a sodhat and it made me chuckle. I regretted the choice relatively soon after.

What has that got to do with TheSecondComing Whistle Wink

Mine is relatively obvious. Named after Fellaini (BigFellasAfro), then he jumped ship for more money and mid table football, so he had to be abandoned. Was already known as Afro, so just stuck with it.

I now consider it as homage to all people with big hair apart from Fellaini, but in particular Carlos Valderrama

Why can't England batsmen resist playing the pull shot? Especially Prior, he's terrible at it.

They know India want the win, so don't try and play the short stuff and they will soon start bowling with more length,

I have two shots in my repertoire. A good pull, and a smash into cow corner. Anything on my off-side and I'm dead. Or straight on. I need it pitching on leg, or pitching up. If I have to block a ball, I'm doomed.

Better get my pads on for the 3rd test!

I'm a defensive hermit when I bat.

I play a few strokes on the off side, a cut or the odd drive but I'm not a hitter at all.

They did that on the cricket section before.

And my word, Azzy, what a horrible idea that is. It's hard enough finding out about Dutch wonderkids, no one needs to search for Zimbabwean middle order grinders.
