I had no idea Curran had died, what a bad example to use Laugh

England are going to be stuffed in central midfield. No Gerrard, Lampard, Barry or Milner. We now get:

Henderson (average)
Wilshere (marginally above average)
Barkley (creative, but can't defend)
Oxo Cube (good, but not really a CM)
Lallana (average, better out wide)

Not much going on there. I feel sorry for Roy.

I like Henderson and Wilshere as a pair.

But we all know it's time for Mark Noble.

We probably have to look a little deeper too, some players like Ward-Prowse, Hughes, Thorne (who I don't get why you sold, Azzy) might all come through in good time.

We sold Thorne because we brought in Gary Gardner on a free. A free transfer always trumps homegrown talent, especially English talent.

Yet another example of Albion's stupidity.

Proven further by our 'capture' of the Nigerian Shola Ameobi, Brown Ideye. Ignore the fact that Ameobi is, himself, Nigerian, it's the worst signing in football history, never mind Albion history. WTFFF.

Cricket is such an awful sport i don't even watch it when it's world cup. Test cricket is the worst, block block block miss miss block block one run.

England need to bring in Monty Panesar and maybe they'll have a chance but if I'm honest England are really Poopie at Cricket.

I hate England fans, after we're knocked out of a tournament a United player is always blamed.

I bet Azzy and Afro were vying for Beckhams blood back in 98 but loved him after Greece 01. Where were you when he needed support?

I think your second comment proves your first comment and how long since you paid any real attention.

Ignoring his off the field problems, his performances in the last 2 years have been so poor he got ditched by Sussex and now he can't even get a game for Essex. That alone means he is nowhere near good enough anymore, add in his off the field antics and he has no chance of playing for England again

No and no. His treatment after 98 was disgusting, especially after his performances before the Argentina game. And I didn't love him after Greece either, I think his performance in that game was overhyped. He ran around a lot and showed passion, and then hit a worldie free kick.

I would have ROoney in there ahead of Barkley at the moment. Barkley is still too niaive, whilst Rooney was probably the pick of a poor bunch at the World Cup. I would actually make Rooney captain tbh

I'm joking about Monty.

Last time England played without Rooney was back in 2002. They've gone slightly backwards since then but I wouldn't say that good enough reason to drop Rooney.

He showed passion, what do Gerrard and Lampard show? Eff all, Beckham gave his heart out for England but nobody valued him. I reckon you should show love and respect to Beckham.

For me, England are worse when they accommodate Rooney. And realistically we aren't going to be competitive while Rooney is still good, so to me it makes little sense to continue building our side around him.

So many points:

1. Rooney was pants yet again for England. He is dire for his national team. Zero effort or desire shown. He needs to be put out to pasture.

2. I've always hated David Beckham, I didn't need Diego Simeone to give me a reason and the Greece game (where England were mullered by Greece!) was over-hyped. He scored a free kick. Big whoop.

3. I'm an Essex fan, I don't want Monty playing for us, never mind England.

4. If United players performed to their ability, concentrated on their football and actually gave their 100% commitment to the team, there'd be no reason to complain about them. Rooney was more concerned with his wife and her 18 suitcases than he was in preparing for WORLD CUP GAMES. He's a selfish moron. I'd rather have James Milner starting for England.

Ah, the "passion" argument.

Passion doesn't win as many games as goals and playing well do. John Terry had great passion too.

You must have a real thing about people being anti United, but your just as bad in reverse these days. You used to be quite rational.

Lampard and Gerrard have showed passion and been good performers for England too. As much as you telling people they should show Beckham more respect, you should show Lampard and Gerrard more respect.
