Froch v DeGale - Page 2 Empty Froch v DeGale

Post by Sugar Boy Sweetie Fri Jul 18, 2014 9:58 am

First topic message reminder :

Few whispers on twitter that this fight is now gonna be made. So, two questions about it; is it a good fight for MatchRoom in terms of public appeal (TV, arena etc) and the fact that one of their fighters has the potential to lose stock depending on the outcome?

Secondly, who wins and why?

I'd watch this, it has  enough in it to intrigue me. Degale is capable of out boxing froch and has better whiskers than groves... Does he have enough pop in his punches to stop froch taking liberties and does he have the work rate and stamina to keep froch off him in the later  rounds? Did the Gonzales fight show a step up from degale, or did it flatter him a bit?

Only one way to find out

Gotta agree Milky. On paper this looks more interesting than Froch v Groves 1 did.

DeGale has the capacity do what Dirrell did to Froch. In fact I would say DeGale is even more awkward than Dirrell.

I still think Froch catches up with him and busts him up late. Could be a very entertaining fight for lots of reasons.

I cannot see this happening. Degale wouldn't stand a chance. I think he's got talent but not yet on frock level

Exactly what they said before the Groves fight, it's a fight that will happen, makes sense for all parties concerned.

British gold medalist mandatory challenger looking to make history and whom people saw fight on the Wembley under card challenging for another all time great brits world title and you do not think its a PPV?  Shocked

No tunes it shouldn't be. PPV should be for the cream of the crop. I personally think Eddie got lucky with Froch/Groves and the fights were great for us fans, but it's going to be back to how it was a few years back when a load of tripe was put on PPV.

I have to disagree, two British fighters fighting for a world title, one of which is one of the best British boxers, It speaks for its self. And this is not to mention Degale being a gold medalist and could be the first brit to go on and win a world title as well... it has a big selling point and the bottom line is people will pay to watch it.

As for Froch and Groves, this was also a big fight, admittedly the second was just hyped because of the ? many felt lingered after the first fight.

Regarding Froch Degale, I would not expect people over seas to pay for it, But I would imagine allot of Brits will.

It shouldnt be ppv. But it will be.

Haye v Audley Harrison was ppv worthy by the above definition. LOL.

Love these different stages of their careers kind of fights.. Old gun young lion.

Learned a valuable lesson Froch, at this level you don't take liberties until your chins warmed up no matter who you're fighting. Good to see DeGale get his chance to dine at the top table and see if he's got what it takes against the odd fighter who could interrupt his gameplan. Really interesting fight plenty of the unknown and questions to be answered. Carl doesn't need to go gung-ho he can box this guy. I don't mind Carl in a twelve rounder, I like to watch him box. Love his fight selection as always he doesn't do gimmes. Real champion Carl Froch.
