Aye, I do quite like that we've seen a niggle and we're resting him though and giving him a different fitness plan. We havent been like that in years gone by. And we now actually have strikers at the club to cover him. Could see Enner or Zarate down the middle a few times this year

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Ed Woodward has said that Manchester United would be happy to break the world transfer record for the right player and have a near unlimited amount to spend on transfers.
Not sure that's the greatest negotiation skill to tell the world that if Manchester United really want a player they are willing to pay anything because clubs will just start putting their prices up.

Has anything about Ed Woodward convinced you hes any good at negotiating transfers?
Besides clubs are hardly going to pick up on the fact that United make a lot of money for the first time now.

All talk. Hes made some major noise the last few days, basically setting himself up for a fall if he fails to land targets (which despite shaw and herera I still dont think he can)

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
cant see us doing anything untill last minute if needs be, if rumours are to be believed lvg wants to have a look at the players first before signing anymore which is fair enough. herrera and shaw werent exactly the toughest choices seeing though we haven't got a left back without him and have no top class cm's.
think we'll see a cb brought in towards the end of the window, i personally dont expect too much else

also forgot to add think we'll see a couple in jan, its not like we have to worry about players being cup tied for the champions league. and if we are in a strong position (i.e looking like getting champions league football next season) we will be in a better position to sign the top players

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Yeh agree, can't see us signing anyone until we return from tour. Van Gaal would've sounded out some names to test the waters before tour, get's a look at some of the dross in our squad and then on his return writes up a list of the players we need. I truly expect Vidal to sign, probably early August like many others will and those leaving. I expect us to go after Strootman in Jan also.

To be fair it's not like it's going to admit he's off to United really is he. I wouldn't either not with that crappy kit Id feel like a hobo that's scouting for rolf harris style promiscuity

You think Arsenal's is nice? All of them are horrendous colour in the flesh, like a child got to choose.
BBC reporting United are "monitoring" Depay. Not sure whether that's news really, I'm also monitoring Depay

These are all just non stories, until a formal bid is placed none of it has any significance, players and managers say exactly what the fans want to hear so that if their plans do fall through they can make out it wasn't what they wanted.

He's rejected a new deal but Sullivan has just said on TalkSport that he thinks they will get it sorted. He'll be an Arsenal or Liverpool player next year if not.
Sullivan has also said Allardyce has said Ravel isnt part of his plans but the board have said hes a part of the clubs plans.
Its been a s*** day

Here's what was actually said between the reporter and Vidal:
Reporter: Hi Vidal, how are you?
Vidal: very well thank you.
Reporter: you can set the fans minds at ease, are you staying?
Vidal: I'm still on holiday
Reporter: you're not going to Manchester no?
Vidal: (laughs) no, no.
Reporter: you have spoken to Allegri?
Vidal: not yet.
Reporter: have you spoken to your colleagues?
Vidal: no
Reporter: so are you staying?
Vidal: I don't know, I will return Monday to speak to the mister (Allegri)
Reporter: do you want to stay?
Vidal: I don't know, I am happy here.

Really depends if he can get a good rate on home contents insurance.
I also heard the current internet speed available in the area could be a block to any potential deal.

Thats similar to why he turned down City, I believe, who don't have great EE coverage and Vidal is a big Kevin Bacon fan so won't get a contract with anyone else.
