You're putting far too much weight on preseason results Azzy.

Funniest example is the 2008 Detroit Lions, who went 4-0 in preseason and 0-16 in actual games.

The games are all about fitness and experimenting, nobody from either side is worried about the result.

I would disagree that Sociedad are an average side.

I think that they are a good side with plenty of potential.

It's not all about fitness and experimenting. Most teams are playing their actual formations, but using squad players to distribute fitness. That Chelsea team should beat that Bremen team without getting into a sweat.

I have noticed that you're winding up poor Miky, I don't believe for a second you think Chelsea will finish out of the top 4. They've improved the side from last season massively and I make them favorites for the title. Arsenal have signed Sanchez who is he some little speed man who'll get bumped off in the physical English league, where is the steel Arsenal lack no where to be seen. Manchester United were there for the taking last season heck even wba beat us but arsenal managed 1 point in 2 games. I don't believe in arsene I don't believe in arsenal I don't believe in their project, Arsenal for me are same old arsenal who'll bottle it yet again. Oh wow they won the game cup didn't hull win it before them. I don't rate arsenal they're a punk ass side who have tricked poor fans like you that there going places when the truth is they're just going to finish 4th bull crap the fans again and it'll happen all over again. I've got more respect for Liverpool and Rodgers he had bottle he didn't bull crap the fans they still need one world class player and they'll be a threat. I don't respect Arsenal anymore they've become the biggest joke ever, don't call them a title contending team because they're not don't be shocked when they lose to mid table teams because that's their level now.

I don't. Mourinho has signed injury-prone players. Fabregas and Costa are both prone to a few games here, a few games there. Both would be massive losses for any stretch of time.

Walcott is a little speed man, he does just fine.

I'm no Arsenal fan.

Sounds like I need to make another PM Laugh

I don't see much improvement from City yet. Arsenal have made a couple of splashy buys, but are they now nailed on to be top 2? Not for me.
United still have holes to plug. Liverpool haven't sorted out their defensive problems yet. Spurs have bought no-one.

I don't follow your logic. Chelsea got back one of the best keepers in Europe, added a proven Premier League midfielder in Cesc and at least have a better chance of scoring a couple this year.

And of course I shall elaborate Smile

- Courtois is no improvement on Cech, himself a quality keeper. If anything, this may be a short-term downgrade as Courtois adjusts to PL life.

- Filipe Luis at LB is no improvement on Azpilicueta, who if he moves to RB at the expense of Ivanovic (as rumoured) means you've lost out at RB. Ivanovic is your best defender for me, as Ashley Cole was.

- While he wasn't a very good defender, losing Luiz at CB and bringing back Zouma as his replacement isn't smart in the short-term. Zouma has a lot to learn at this high level, and he'll make more msitakes than Luiz ever did.

- Fabregas, ignoring injuries, is not the player he was 3 years ago. He's aged - you just have to look at him. His passing ability will be much welcomed, but he takes the place of Mata essentially. That's no upgrade. It's a huge downgrade.

- Drogba is the same as Eto'o, past it. He'll make minimal difference.

- Costa is a massive upgrade on Torres. But so would Lukaku have been. One injury for Costa - as we all know he is likely to get - and you're stuffed.

- Losing Lampard is going to affect the dressing room, especially the older players such as Terry. And the midfield of Matic-Ramires-Oscar isn't remotely in the league of Fernando-Fernandinho-Toure, nore of Herrera-Carrick-Fellaini, nor of Ramsey-Wilshere-Arteta even.

- You've lost good squad cover in Bertrand, Van Aanholt, Ba, Romeu, Piazon and Hazard.

The places I see Chelsea improving at - striker and midfield - can be undone with a slight muscle strain.

- Filipe Luis at LB is no improvement on Azpilicueta, who if he moves to RB at the expense of Ivanovic (as rumoured) means you've lost out at RB. Ivanovic is your best defender for me, as Ashley Cole was. move Ivanovic to CB and you have a stronger defense overall

- While he wasn't a very good defender, losing Luiz at CB and bringing back Zouma as his replacement isn't smart in the short-term. Zouma has a lot to learn at this high level, and he'll make more msitakes than Luiz ever did. Given Luiz made an handful of appearances at CB all season, if Zoumas his replacement he can't hurt much. Also anyone with a brain will make less mistakes than Luiz.

- Fabregas, ignoring injuries, is not the player he was 3 years ago. He's aged - you just have to look at him. His passing ability will be much welcomed, but he takes the place of Mata essentially. That's no upgrade. It's a huge downgrade. Odd considering Fabregas will play a different position and Oscar replaced Mata. Hes a massive upgrade over Lampard though.

- Drogba is the same as Eto'o, past it. He'll make minimal difference. So their backup is as good as last years starter?

- Costa is a massive upgrade on Torres. But so would Lukaku have been. One injury for Costa - as we all know he is likely to get - and you're stuffed. Tend to agree, but Lukaku wasn't good enough for Chelsea at present anyway.

And getting Drogba back? Even ignoring Fabregas will be in that midfield, its miles better than Uniteds.

- You've lost good squad cover in Bertrand, Van Aanholt, Ba, Romeu, Piazon and Hazard.

Ivanovic can be used in central defence.

I think Courtois is ready for the PL.

We almost won the title last season with the best defence in the league, it only would of taken a top quality striker last year and we would of won the title probably around February. That defence may end up being switched around with Luis at left back as a new addition but I am more than happy with that, that is a solid defence. We now have our Top quality striker and we also have back one of our best ever strikers.

Granted Drogba might not get many games but he can certainly be used as an impact player in games.

I meant to say that we COULD of won the title around February if we had a striker who had scored 20-30 goals.

I didn't mean it to sound like we definitely would of I'm just saying that we potentially could of. I'm far from arrogant Viva and I didn't mean it like that because I know that last season was massively open and it could of been anyone's title.

I agree that you'd have won the title if you had a top striker but it'd have been closer than you think around 36 games. Could also say the same for Liverpool if they had a good defence they'd have won it.
