10 bold predictions Empty 10 bold predictions

Post by Crimey Fri 15 Aug 2014, 1:14 am

Been a bit of a tradition to make ten bold predictions before the start of each season and to then look back on them at the end of the season and see how we all did.

1) Alexis Sanchez to outscore Diego Costa
2) Frank Lampard to make just three Premier League starts
3) Wayne Rooney to fall out with Van Gaal
4) Ronald Koeman to be quit Southampton
5) Luis Suarez to score less than 20 league goals at Barcelona
6) David Moyes to be back in Premier League management by the end of the season
7) Jordan Henderson to be nominated for PFA Player of the Year
8) Cesc Fabregas to be Chelsea's top scorer
9) Liverpool's league form to improve after being knocked out of CL group stages
10) Rio Ferdinand to leave QPR early

1) Raheem Sterling to cement a number ten role for club and country.
2) Glenn Hoddle to be manager of a Premier League club once more.
3) Chelsea to win a Premier League and Champions League double.
4) Manchester United to lead the Premier League until November....then fall away.
5) Arsene Wenger to retire at the end of the season.
6) Andy Carroll to score at a rate of a goal per game, or better.
7) David Beckham to get a coaching role.
8) Ian Wright will get increased punditry roles; and he will be increasingly irritating.
9) Theo Walcott will get more gorgeous, and be given a prolonged go in the striker role for Arsenal. He will score more than fifteen overall if that happens.
10) My faith in the English team shall never waver, not for a second, and England will win every game between now and the end of the season (friendlies included).

The Carroll prediction isn't bold, he just has to score in his only appearance for the season

As many as three?!

I were gently implying that Carroll would not play at all this season!

Fair play to Delph but odd circumstances. Guy playing for a team goalless in 180 minutes at home, one game didn't register a shot on target, one game a loss to a League One team.

What's the problem, Rooney's been made captain and his club side are even f#cking worse!

These are looking like horrible predictions bar bad injury to Costa.

Crimey wrote:2) Frank Lampard to make just three Premier League starts

He made one yesterday, he was poor though so might not find himself in the starting spots again any time soon.

Crimey wrote:6) David Moyes to be back in Premier League management by the end of the season

Newcastle definitely a possibility there.

Crimey wrote:3) Wayne Rooney to fall out with Van Gaal

Seems unlikely having been made captain, but if Van Gaal ends up preferring Falcao it could end up messily.

2) Started 6, but was at the club for more than double the time.
3) Doesn't seem to have happened but were rumours when he was being played in midfield.
4) Nope, not even close.
5) Yep, only scored 13. Still been fantastic for them after a slow start.
6) Wasn't, but was back in management with Real Sociedad.
7) He wasn't but Coutinho was! Even though I'd say Henderson had a better season.
8) Not even close. I obviously expected him to play further forward.
9) This definitely did happen. It was only after a great run of form that things went a bit bad.
10) He hasn't, which has genuinely really surprised me.
