Zim-SA-Oz Tri Series - Page 2 Empty Zim-SA-Oz Tri Series

Post by Pal Joey Mon 25 Aug 2014, 11:40 am

First topic message reminder :

The first match is underway at Harare. Looks a decent batting wicket; perfect spring weather.
Should be an interesting little tourny for these 3 countries before the more serious stuff later on this year and next.

There's movement at the station.... again. Smile

Yes, they got their act together a little better today but still more work is needed.
Ferocious batting from Marsh. The bowlers all chipped in too and the fielding was improved.

Mike, did you hear they will be setting up the microphone in Richie's living room this summer?

Congrats Zim for the wonderful win, and congrats for the captaincy knock, it was a pleasure to see Clarke's team lose.

Pity they miss out on the Final though. The best 2 teams got through, thank goodness.

cheers Big Fella... err... I mean Biltong. Very Happy

Surely SA will beat Zim in the final round match even if they rest a few players?

Faf is just incredibly hot at the moment. Top four fires, and we have as good a chance as anyone in Australia

Zimb deserves huge round of applause for the fighting spirit shown against established power houses like Aus and Saffers.

Sure. Can we stop the applause now though? That's almost ancient history now.

Moving on - Australia posted a very ordinary total of 219 and SA should walk this one in.

If we can just get this Parnell bloke with the silly hair out I'll be happy. Is he a sailor or what?

Hope Faf is still there at the end though. He's a good bloke. OK

Faf must never want to leave Zimbabwe. He's had an extraordinary series.

3 x 100 and 96 today. Came within 4 runs of becoming first man to score 4 centuries in one ODI series.

Well done to him and SA for clinching the win. They did it easily in the end.

Seemed to me that Australia were not quite there (obviously) and they'll have a few changes to make in personal and attitude before they return home for the tri-series and WC. We Australian fans expect better and more consistent performances than that and I hope Lehman gives a few of the players ultimatums to either screw their heads on tighter or go back to their respective State sides for some more "homework".

Yeah it was a good, entertaining tri-series. Quite enjoyable. Looking forward to Australia, seems to be some needle between the two teams, and while kumbaya series between two affable teams is always nice, really gets good when there's a bit of needle

Yeah, I was too scared to click on the "Steyn will probably never forgive Clarke" article I saw somewhere in the news.
There's hardly ever a dull moment between these two teams. Spicy stuff.

Just saw the article myself... Misleading headline, but the spice is in there. It's a proper full blown war now.
