We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
First topic message reminder :
such a shame Strootman got injured before the world cup. Think he'd be at the club otherwise. He should have been here last summer along with thiago but we ballsed it up and ended up with fellaini.

I wouldn't say more concerned, but I am enjoying there demise and the panic of the glory seeking Man U fans.

You are the typical Manure fan from London who glory seeked when there where a young fan and now can't take the flak that Man U have gone down the sh|tter. Your so transparent its untrue. You need to get a grip.
And I will say this now and you can quote me at the end of the season.
Liverpool will finish higher then Man U

Well lets hope Liverpool are not smiling next saturday evening, when the Villa roll into town.
Have an ok record at Anfield, hope that can continue.
A win would be great, have a tough september.

Yeah Norwich played well when they got the 1-1 draw. Lambert clearly isn't daunted coming to our place.

Yeah we need to fight hard against the villa. Looking better than us. But we have the zaha rocket. He is like sterling on DRS.

Will be a tough game.
If we get an early chance ala Gabby's last season, we need to be scoring.
Not missing those chances.
Shame Benteke is out, good ground for him, will be a loss.

I am really getting board of international football.
I had to bet on the NFL instead.
Did well. Don't even get the sport. Backed Seattle handicapped.
I might stop now and forever be up on one market..
Anyway back to the PL...
I am really not sure Man U can beat the 4. Sterling could end up getting better and better. Man U look more disjointed than an England team with Gerard and lamps in the middle.. It takes time , not sure if they have it. Arsenal have also seriously strengthened.. The ox , Walcott back with Wilshire (just starting to show form) add Wellbeck chambers and Sanchez.. Bammm. What a team..

It appears the media have it out for Super Mario already. Rumors saying he nutted/stamped on a Wolves player in a friendly not true was just a 50-50 tackle.
Liverpool won 1-0 with a Lallana goal apparently
(That's from a Wolves correspondent)

Good to see the club is making sure the players not selected internationally are kept match fit. Would be hard to keep momentum from the Spurs game going otherwise.

Yeah, saw it earlier. We basically bought an injury prone player after all those months of scouting. Throw in Riviere too, Cabella yet to show anything of note & it's not looking to good a window for us. Not that optimistic now for the season, just don't know where the goals are coming from.

Sounds like a bad injury for Liverpool. A nightmare with their only good striker out or a chance for Sterling to shine up top?

No news on how long he'll be out for, not seen it being reported as too long though. Think it will ease an headache of how to accommodate Balotelli though as he can now be the lone striker in a 4-3-3.

From his twitter
Heartbroken soul right now believe me. Hopefully be back soon fighting fit for LFC. Nothing worse than being injured. My heads gone...
Mirror says 3 weeks. That's not a tweet of a 3 week injury to me that's a 1-3 months tweet

It could take Balotelli a few games to get up to speed again. I don't know Liverpool's fixtures but if they're fairly easy it should be ok for them. Villa will fancy their chances now.

Yeah I'm not too worried, Sturridge is great and obviously the team will miss him but with no other injury worries we should be alright.

He needs to be more disciplined and just lead that line, or just become a midfielder. When he plays up front he scores.

injuries are part of sport, if he's heartbroken at 3 weeks shows he isn't very mentality tough to deal with them

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Or perhaps it's because he's had quite a lot of injuries meaning he can't get a good run of games? Perhaps it's because he's missing a competitive England game meaning his place may be under threat? Maybe it's because Liverpool have just signed a big name striker who will now have a run of games without him to take his place? Maybe it's because he's going to miss Liverpool's return to the Champions League?
Criticising a player for that is ridiculous.
Also, he didn't say it was only 3 weeks, only that four months was an exaggeration. So it could be anywhere between 3 weeks to 4 months.

I think you're putting far too much emphasis on heartbroken to be honest. Also if it was a United player, you wouldn't be giving the same criticism, you would be praising their passion.

You don't know how serious the injury is though, only that Sturridge has favourited a tweet saying that it's not four months. That means it could still be three months, which is still a serious injury, or even two months which would keep him out of a lot of games as well.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
i keep reading its only 3 weeks, cant see why there has been such varying reports either he's snapped it or its a strain. would have thought the first injury (the long lay off being reported) would have been very apparent if that happened.
i couldn't care less if he's a liverpool or not, cant stand this supposed "passion" written in a tweet that his minders have probably told him to put. if rooney had said it id be saying the same (although not really his biggest fan either).
joe hart is another, he's become a parody with his over the top reactions for the camera, i saw people praising him for his "passion" for recovering a ball from the ball boy recently! gimme a break!! funnily enough he's seemed to have gotten worse right around the same time as all these adverts he's appearing in, amazing what raising your profile can do to your bank balance

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Wenger has come out and said that had he been in the country on the last day of the window, Arsenal probably wouldn't have signed Welbeck permanently.
What on earth is the point of saying that, his PR team must be absolutely shocked that he would say something so stupid.
1. It makes Welbeck feel unwanted before he has even kicked a ball for Arsenal, it turns out his manager didn't actually really want him, but he's stuck with him now.
2. It makes Wenger look like an idiot for going off to referee the charity game, because while at first it looks good because he's on the ball and Arsenal can still do business without him having to be there, it now turns out that if he had been around then it wouldn't have happened...then why wasn't he there?!
Ridiculous thing to say. Even if it's true, there is absolutely no good reason for him to say it.

Welbeck is a good player and will do well for arsenal.

Gary Neville- possibly the only decent pundit this country has- thinks united were insane to be paying stupid money on mercenaries and also even more insane for selling welbeck so cheap.. ANd yes I 100% agree with him.
The amount of people that have judged Welbecks scoring record when he has played the majority of his time working tirelessly for his team defending is getting ridiculous. AT least the respected pundits talk some sense. and 60m for di maria- jeasus.
There will be no team unity there at all- They have become what they hate - a PSG type club.. (which by the way is a step below a man city club)
I couldn't imagine rooney holding player only meetings at United like he did with England.
Something is rotten at that club...
Hopefully Wenger was just peeved that his owners acted without his say so and was just angry as he only wanted to test him out on a loan deal then buy over straight out buy. But IMO 16m is cheap and could easily be recouped even if he doesn't fit in with his plans this time next year.
