We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
First topic message reminder :
such a shame Strootman got injured before the world cup. Think he'd be at the club otherwise. He should have been here last summer along with thiago but we ballsed it up and ended up with fellaini.

Yes but Rodgers is the oracle, all seeing all knowing and the revolutionist football needs- at least on his own mind.
Sturridge would have been on a rest day had he been still at Liverpool don't you know.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Welbeck's goal scoring rate is not the only thing he can be criticised for. His technical abilities in general are really lacking, and his physical attributes don't necessary make up for it. He is fast, strong and has good stamina but he has poor passing, crossing, decision-making and finishing most of the time. As much as you can praise his defensive work, he is a forward/winger and he should have had a lot more goals and assists than he has had currently. Dirk Kuyt played a similar role for Liverpool and yet scored more goals and got more assists than Welbeck has done.

Thats harsh, Welbeck is a rather good close knit passer and always been a good link man.

Wouldn't agree with much of that.
His passing is fine as is his decision making.
Tbh I think he is a decent finisher and will show it with a run of games up front to get his confidence up.
Only 23 and rvp took his place then the moyes fiasco after his break through season.

I heard the other day that Welbeck's chance conversion is identical to Sturridge's.
Decent signing for Arsenal I reckon. Good luck to him.

That ball from Navas was lovely. Don't mean to be a downer, but Aguero one clear chance one goal. dat guy Welbz one clear chance one miss.

Dolph. Seriously .one is a world class striker and one is playing his game a this club.. Let's not go there just yet.
Wilshire been doing OK though . So shame arsenal haven't capitalised. Ozil has been as waste full as I have seen him for a long time. But on the plus he looks really lively.. He looks to be back up to fitness.

Same old same old for Arsenal. Playing against 10 men essentially as Lampard is absolutely atrocious.

Tbf to welbeck if that goal had gone in - he would have been praised massively for the finish. it was just overkill one on one.

Lampard lacks the legs, and Arsenal lack a clinical edge. Good game though, Clattenburg is allowing it to flow.

Its a big game and he wants to be the main man at a big club. This is when the pressure has to be on. So i'll go there, and so will the world. Scholes is right, its ruthlessness. Welbeck should have just hammered it in.

But if he'd have hammered it and it had hit the keeper then everyone would of been saying he should have been more composed and chipped it over him. He was very unlucky and inches from being a perfect finish

That's how it's done Danny... Arsenal deserved that as they've been very good this 2nd half whereas City look a bit leggy.

nice little flick on by Wellbeck there, shame Ozil (almost) tripped over his own feet afterwards.

4 good games on the spin where Ramsey and ozil have been of form.. He is maintaining it, your sarcasm isn't really warranted.
But Arsernal need to get the others I mentioned above on soon. Ramsey is a liability today and ozil is just wasting decent positions.

You don't pay Sánchez money for 90 minutes of effort, you pay it for moments like that.

It must be his fitness. Agüero would be scoring Messi numbers if he could play Messi minutes

Little bit lucky in the build up to both goals Arsenal, think theres fouls in both, but not major. Also think Wilshere is a lucky boy there, used his arm on purpose to nudge the ball.

Yeah I don't think he's fully fit yet. It was his first start, wasn't it? I know he's a stocky guy but he's carrying a bit of weight too.
