Sin, I'd love to see Kidney and Foley double act at Munster next year.
Also ONCE AGAIN I did not say he should get the job as he is young. I gave a list of his achievements and said that at only 40 years old he was a dozen years younger than our last 2 coaches which makes it more remarkable.
As for the accusations of bias thats just something I'd like to see. I hated the last 6 Nations and the Irish fan base split down the middle.

OK on the age thing
The accusations of bias mainly came from Leinster fans because Kidney used to coach there. I have heard no moaning from Ulster fans about him. And for the record, everyone moaned about Eddie.
Rudduck could be accused of bias from Munster supporters considering only 2 made the world cup squad. But they have taken it on the chin despite a bit of crowing from some Leinster supporters.

I've a weekend planned. Looking forward to my day out in the big city
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Why haven't Munster and Leinster named teams. The game is tomorrow. This is like soccer naming last minute teams. I thought they would be named by Wednesady or Thursday with A.N. Other lining out for Leinster in the injury worry positions.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Kiwi, I remember talking to you on the weekend about where I usually stay when I go to London, and I couldn't remember the name of the place. It's just come to me: Earls Court.

Flipping work is hard work today. Went to watch a Foo Fighters tribute band last night (Faux Fighters) Good Poopie like. I don't think I was quite ready for a drink though still, though I did put some away.

I don't know. I like to see it. Usually game is on a Saturday its named Thursday lunchtime. The next day you buy a newspaper and you get a brief outline of who's and the obvious consequences it will have. Then on match day the papers (and online forums) are full of the nitty gritty chat about the match ups and when the match is won and lost.
They are robbing me of this!!

Agree. They will name a better backrow and IMO a centre partnership that will work better.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Stag, normally the teams are announced the day before the game in thew Magners League around lunchtime. I expect them to be named imminently.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
My mate just sent this to me, apparently this is the "leaked team"
LEINSTER:
15: Isa Nacewa
14: Shane Horgan
13: Brian O'Driscoll
12: Fergus McFadden
11: Luke Fitzgerald
10: Jonathan Sexton
9: Eoin Reddan
1: Heinke van der Merwe
2: Richardt Strauss
3: Mike Ross
4: Leo Cullen CAPTAIN
5: Nathan Hines
6: Sean O'Brien
7: Shane Jennings
8: Jamie Heaslip
REPLACEMENTS:
16: Aaron Dundon
17: Cian Healy
18: Stan Wright
19: Devin Toner
20: Kevin McLaughlin
21: Paul O'Donohoe
22: Ian Madigan
23: Eoin O'Malley
It would make sense given Boss and Darcy's injuries. If that is the team then i hope it's Hayes and Horan in the Munster front row...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
well that was up there with one of the most random phone calls I've ever had at work:
"Hi, I wonder if you have a number for a midwife at all?"
the answer would be a no!
Work is very Poopie again today so I'm looking forward to the team announcements, really need something to distract me!

I'll have to remember that. Patriotism means that I almost always have a Kiwiburger at GBK though. Even if technically including pineapple makes it a "Hawaiian" burger, it's got beetroot in it!

I don't like athletics that much. Its team sports, games that entertain me.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I don't like athletics either. I just can't admit to that as I work at an athletics track and nearly everyone else who works there is an athletics coach and/or former athlete :run2:

They're certainly overshadowed by the track events. I have to say my favourite events are the middle-distance races. When I was younger I used to run 800m and 1500m - Steve Ovett was a hero of mine.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Yea I just find it boring. Its a real test of strenght/speed etc but as a spectator its just someone running in a straight line or lifting something heavy.
I fail to see the excitment the Olympics generate aside from the fact its such an international competition.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I am only into the sprints now track wise. Particularly now Usain Bolt is about. I'll usually watch up to 400m and then not bother so much.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I quite like the middle distance running events, or actually any distance from 400m above, they are the more exciting ones for me. My fave field event to watch is the Javelin, and I love both the Heptathlon and Decathlon.

I don't really watch athletics. I like watching the gymnastics on the Olympics though.

Usain Bolt is phenomenal. When he won the 100m final in Beijing and broke the world record despite slowing down to celebrate ten metres from the line, it was incredible.

I like to watch the marathons, triathalons and stuff like that during the Olympics and other big tournaments. You can see how much a test of sheer endurance and willpower. I admire that character and appreciate seeing it.
It think it was the marathon in the 2004 Summer Olympics that took place on a very, very hot day in Athens and it just looked like very tough going.

I like the fact that middle-distance races are long enough for tactics to come into play: whether or not to try and lead from the start, when to kick for home, people getting boxed in, that sort of stuff.
I really like the gymnastics too.

Dreamer - I can't watch figure skating for that reason. I like watching other winter sports though when they're on. I used to really enjoy watching the show jumping and the Horse of the Year Show on telly; but that was back in the day when I'd also watch darts and wrestling on a Saturday afternoon...
I like the fact in that article I posted above, Bolt was described as "sluggish" and he still ran the 100m in less than ten seconds!

Funny isn't it.
What Bolt did in that 100m there Lucky was great. I was glad he ran it full tilt in the next major championships though as I knew he'd go around 9.6 secs. I preferred the 200m though when Michael Johnson didn't think he'd break his record.
Anyhoo, back to work. Hope to be finished soon so I can have a little nap before heading back to Cymru.

They went back to Michael Johnson in the studio afterwards and you could tell he was gutted, which is fair enough. He's turning into a great athletics pundit and he's written a couple of good articles for the Times.
