I have 1.5 Terrabytes (1,500 gigabytes) of music on my hord-disk. Oh ja roysh.
Most of it is dead-mans music. Which I find to be the best. No dinky-dinky-dum or rapcrap for moi.

Well that's it. Back from the second concert featuring my work in two days. This time I was the composer out of the limelight and behind the mixing desk. Now my undergraduate degree is over, I feel at a complete loss. It's been my life for the past three months. I really don't know what to do with myself between now and September. It's an empty page; any suggestions?
Listening to my music being played today in the Lab, diffusing it- was such a satisfying experience. Just felt like 'my life wouldn't make much sense without this in it'. Bring on next year.

I would argue further and say it is 1024 if you're dealing with facts, and 1000 if you work for the marketing department and are a lying shyte.
Yeah Grey, been dealing with that one for over 30 years now. We used dream of gigabytes. The whole of FIAT UK ran on a floor as big as football-pitch. Total = 20mbs.

What's wrong with the BBC?!
Question of Sport's on tonight, and one of the guests is Patrick Kielty. Yes, Patrick Kielty, that well-loved sportsman. This comes after appearances on the show by Brian Blessed and Nick Flip Knowles.
David Coleman would be turning in his grave if he was dead.

I was going to say they probably decided they needed to bring in a comedian to boost ratings, but then you mentioned Patrick Kielty. So I'm stumped to be honest.

Get on ITV2 - American Idol Finale! Always loads of stars on there!
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Hobo do you moderate an American Idol forum. At home tonight looking after my sister. Might let her have a bottle of beer and watch a movie with me. Sure she's not old enough but a bottle will be good for her.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
They've really messed up the show, Notch. If a programme's been running that long, the chances are that the format works and you should keep it as it is. Now they have really stupid rounds and non-sports guests. It's just a shame.
Did you see the Sports Personality of the Year show last year? That was an absolute shambles.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
That's always been a farce. And I've never enjoyed a Question of Sport at all. The things that make really successful sportsmen and women admirable- their tunnel vision, their dedication, their self-confidence, their competitiveness- make them pretty boring to watch on TV in my opinion when they aren't doing what they do best.
I'd rather watch a panel show with some comedians or musicians, you know, neurotic wrecks and egotists. Insecure creative types with God complexes and poorly concealed coke habits. That's just much more fun all round.
That said, the Panel Show has been drastically overdone as a format. The only one I'd occasionally put on is HIGNFY.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
No, I like a Question of Sport. They don't ask sportsmen to be entertaining, just to answer questions about sport - well, until recently anyway.
What annoyed me most about the Sports Personality of the Year was that it didn't provide a review of the year sport by sport, which it always has in the past. It was just a mish-mash of video montages and non sequiturs. Maybe that's what people want.

Fair enough. It's not going to end well if they try and turn it into Mock The Week. But I think it's ratings are low anyway, hence the desperate tricks.
It might go the way of Top Of The Pops.

Sky have a QoS-style show now, hosted by James Corden. That's even worse.

Ahh... Belshaft.
14 bomb alerts and dozens of DeLoreans trapped in the subsequent traffic jams, due to some knd of DeLorean owners' anniversary celebration. No-one can get home from the city centre, so there's hundreds in the pubs, with a Bank Holiday weekend vibe. What a gloriously odd city.

Nah, just walked home. But I love - absolutely relish - that sense that things are simply beyond your control. A lot of people get so worked up when their real powerlessness is demonstrated. I find it liberating - shrugged, went for a few pints, dandered home.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Don,
It is the best way to handle those things. It's bad for the heart & soul if you let it get to you. Same happened to me, trying to get to the UK for Christmas from Dublin, after a few snowdrops fell. Only in Ireland. People were passing out with anger at Dublin Airport having been told they would not make Christmas Day with their families, all over the World. I left the place and re-booked online for 1st thing the next day. Went for pints and enjoyed them immensely. Happy with my cool.
In the past, I would have lost the plot with some poor defenceless check-in person. Not good for anyone concerned.
I'd love a Delorean. Big hapes of sheet but... sooo cool. Not to be sniffed at.

Gibbo - "I can't do anything at all about this" - you can accept that and sigh a sigh that comes right up from the soles of your shoes, and it feels like all bets are off - just enjoy a bit of banter at the bar. Great feelng of everyone being in the same boat.
I daresay I'd feel different if I was waiting on an ambulance, of course.
Notch - is it on ESPN?

Thanks for the suggestion Glas
Luckily I do have my little part time job, and I'm VERY glad of it. If you wanted a part time bar job, or waiting tables there are so, so, so many applications for those jobs right now. You're competing against 50 other people even for those. It's a complete lottery.

I've heard of 'meat and potatoes' as a saying, but I don't think that's what Notch means either.
