PAOK 0-2 Palmero
(Persic, Markovic)
Rushed tactics were PAOK downfall but don't take anything away from Palmero who adjusted their side and looked devastating out wide. The midfield 2 at PAOK had a strong Base and should have looked to control the midfield but instead played a counter attack system which Ninis and Stoch did work well in especially since they were on the backfooot.
PAOK Good Point : Build team around Greiner and Can
PAOK Bad Point: Better tactics ad wingers in a counter attack system
Palmero Good Point : Very strong out wide
Palmero Bad Point: Replace Valencia for next season
Montepellier 0-2 Genk
No tactics from Azzy I'd personally give a 3-0 loss
Basel 1-1 Bremen
(Campbell) (Maher)
Cherries should have played wingers on the other side of he wants them to cut in as they kept going on weaker foot allowing Bremen to clean up. Campbell was able to use his pace working with Adruiz. Bremen got back in the game with Hunt and Maher attacking the space left by the Basel wingers. Hard to separate the two sides as they both had periods of dominance but neither had the spark to win the game.
Basel Good Point : Lallana, Campbell, Stocker and Lovren are very good build around them or sell them to improve squad
Basel Bad Point : Making simple mistakes which cost you
Bremen Good Point: Good scouting Miky not everyone does it
Bremen Bad Point: Work on your defence
Bordeaux 1-0
Pelle
Verona have gone with the scrappy approach to slow down the opposition it worked for part of the game but when fatigued kicked in Alonso and Lucas showed their worth and sprayed ball outside and that's how they got the goal. Verona needed more guile as Sterling couldn't influence much with just his pace, maybe if Sturridge dropped a but deeper linking up with Sterling they could have been more of a threat attacking wise.
Bordeaux Good Point : Nando when he feels like it has the tactics to beat anyone sadly he doesn't show it enough
Bordeaux Bad Point: Don't think Pelle is the man to lead them forward next season
Verona Good Point :Got two very feared players in Sterling and Sturridge
Verona Good Point: Need a creative player deep to allow the attack to flourish
Twente 0-1 Granada
Brahimi
Looked forward to this game with two top managers, both teams went for the same formation and had similar players but it was the more potent front three and the experience of Grenada which got them the win. Twente had more energy and pace in midfield and got the ball to attackers but they couldn't beat the Grenada defence. The goal actually came from a keeper fumble.
Twente Good Point: The team will be a lot higher next season
Twente Bad Point: You need experience in the side
Grenada Good Point: Afro catered tactics to person who votes (He knows I take the keeper into account and used it in his tactics)
Grenada Bad Point: Nothing major just improve side as everyone else will next season
(Persic, Markovic)

Ujkani
Mustafi - Coloccini - Kongolo
Perisic - Barreto - Canales - Daprela
Markovic - Valencia - Weimann
Team talk:
Our hand is forced by injuries but we're adapting the formation while still keeping the focus on threats from wide areas. We're playing up tempo and directly to attack with pace when we have the ball but we're retreating into our solid shape when we lose it and allowing them to play in front of us until we can get it back and attack again.
Defence:
The back three will hold their line and not push too far up the pitch to allow players in behind.
The wide midfielders are tasked with tracking back with their wide men, and blocking the cross but if they are out of position then our CB will slide across and Barreto will drop in to keep a solid line.
If they have a lone striker then Colo will pick him up when he's within the 18 yard box and allow Barreto and the other CBs to handle the other threats.
Attack:
Fast paced attacks and looking to exploit our wide players. Canales is going to sit in the middle of the field and spray the passes forwards and look to transition us to attack quickly.
The wide midfielders will be supporting the wingers and staying wide at all times but not pressing too high to neglect their defensive responsibilities.
The wingers will run with the ball and go inside or out, but we have a lot of shooting ability in the front three so they will have a licence to take aim at the goal in space.
Valencia is the spearhead and will stay central, dropping deep to create space for others and setting up his own pacey runs in behind if the defence follow him or leave him.

Tactics
Overall: Usually we like to be solid at the back but today I want us to be more attacking, Grenier play the more advanced of the midfield two with Can sitting allowing the FB's to get forward. Look to get Finnbogason the ball in the area, so he can do what he does best. Attack with pace, one/two touch football, don't dither in possession
Defence: Stones/Kolsanic be advanced but in defence be solid and narrow. Keep them ahead of us, don't let them in behind, so sit a little deeper.
Attack: Will be based off the counter attack mainly, look to spring through Stoch/Ninis. When we have possession look to get Valdivia on the ball to create. Three behind Finnbogason interchanges throughout.
Montepellier 0-2 Genk
No tactics from Azzy I'd personally give a 3-0 loss

Overall gameplan: Basel usually play either a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 but usually Adruiz is the one leading the line for them and we want to try and keep him quiet for the whole game.
Defensive tactics: I am expecting either a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 from Basel and they usually have fast paced wingers so watch the runners from the wide areas, I want Alonso and Selassie to play a controlled game at full back by attacking in moments when we are on top of possession and in control of the game but sitting back and defending when we are not. Badstuber I want you to man mark Adruiz today. I want you to use your strength to stand your ground by not allowing him to make too much movement inside our half.
Attacking tactics: I want us to control the game today by having as much possession as possible. Vilhena you will be the key player as usual and I want you to always have your head on a swivel looking for options and looking for the key passes. Use the space to the best we can and look to make things happen for Petersen to hopefully get on the end of as he will be making runs in and around the defence. Hunt and Maher I want you both to pick the ball up and look to put the ball through to Petersen and work together to work the space in the Basel half.
Subs:
80th Minute - Di Santo on for Petersen.
85th Minute - Kroos to come on for Hunt then slot into a slightly deeper role behind Maher.
90th Minute - Garcia on for Alonso.

Lallana---------Campbell--------Stocker
----------------Aduriz-------------
Subs , Sio ,
Defence
, CB will mark zonal if two and Lovren will man mark with 1 while Suchy will hover around and seek to take out nay midfielder runner or be first to loose balls, both FBs will bombard forward constantly and get the oppo on the back foot, maintain an upfield presence and push there wingers back, look to overlap the inward cutting wingers and keep the FBs true, try to keep with there wingers at all times , play direct to Aduriz when clearing and use him to make attacks.
Midfield
Eleny will sit back and both look to snuff out the opposition AM and try and take him out the game when'd feeding in numbers, when the FBs break Eleney will slot in behind the Cbs and will act as a CB to mantain 3 at the back. Frei will burst box to box, he will look to link up with the more forward players, defensivly he will slot back alongside Eleney wand work in tandem. Campbell will constantly be on the move , he will get up along side Aduriz and work off of him , he will look to run at the CBs and create space by dragging no the around, when defending he will look to hassle any gap deep sitting midfielders and create pressure high up the field, the wide men will look to get inside and drag the FBs inward, creating room for overlapping, Lallana will look to pick out the others attackers aswell as making runs into advanced positions, stocker will be more direct and take on his man.
, Aduriz will be a target man and look to feed the 3 around him while getting In the box, his main objective in the box is to get on the nd of crosses and be a poacher, let the others around him do the work.
Bordeaux 1-0

Bordeaux Good Point : Nando when he feels like it has the tactics to beat anyone sadly he doesn't show it enough

Verona Good Point :Got two very feared players in Sterling and Sturridge
Verona Good Point: Need a creative player deep to allow the attack to flourish

- Carrasso
Besic -- Laporte --Manolas -- Maxwell
--------Alonso -- Lucas
Jese ------Rosicky ------Bojan
----------Pelle
Subs: Olimpa/Henrique/Orban/Cheyrou/Vidal/Sanogo/Drogba
Team Talk: Up against a strong Verona side, Hoping GSC forgets Thiago isn't his other then that look to dominate the midfield with 2 DM's and Rosicky. The wingers will have to get up and down the pitch to stop Sterling being so effective.
Defensive Tactics
- Laporte to get tight to Sturridge and stop him from gettiing shots away quickly. Manolas will cover if Sturridge turns Laporte
- I want the wingers forced down the line by the full backs as Laporte/Manolas better in the air then Sturridge don't let them cut inside
- Alonso & Lucas will cover infront of the defense and stop the supply into feet and track the no.10 if play one
- Jese & Bojan to track the full backs going forward to stop double teaming
Attacking Tactics
- Alonso & Lucas look to use their passing ability and spray it out to the wingers or up to Pelle for a knockdown
- I want the wingers to look to take on the full backs with pace and whip balls into the box
- Pelle to get on Umtiti as his fairly small and look to dominate him in the air.
- Rosicky to sit in the gap between midfield & Defense and look to create for Wingers running in behind
- Bojan & Jese to switch wings and keep them on their feet and create chances
Subs: Drogba for Pelle - Look to back into the CB's and get in the box - Cheyrou for Lucas if winning with 85 mins to go to shut up shop
- Spoiler:
- Howard
Janmaat-Umtiti-Reid-Van Aanholt
Stambouli
Delph-Hallfredsson
Sterling
Sturridge-Wickham
Gameplan:
Delph and Hallfredsson should use their stamina and workrate to set the tone in midfield, harry and harass our opponents, rough them up somewhat and prevent them from settling into a rhythm. Offensively we want to try and find Sterling in space where he can turn and cause problems.
Defense:
Stambouli to play as a pure DM, roam the space in front of the back 4 and be aware of counter attacks if the FBs get caught high. Delph and Hallfredsson should harass their midfield in possession, expect both to be up and down the pitch all game. Sterling to hassle Alonso if he tries to sit deep, disrupt his rhythm.
Offense:
Sterling to utilise the entire final third, expect to keep moving around and find the space where it develops. Should hopefully be too quick for any DM, get your head up and either take a defender on or look for pass in behind. Sturridge to play on the last shoulder pushing the CBs deeper to deal with his pace, Wickham to act as more of a target man, looking to get it into feet and distribute or turn and run. FBs should get forward to offer width, Delph and Hallfredsson to make late runs from deeper.

Starting XI

Fabinho---Jedvaj---Vlaar----Bernat
Motta---Xavi---Marrone
Brahimi------Streller--------Januzaj
Subs:, Fernandez, Nyom, Murillo, Klaasen, Bakayoko, Ongenda, Zivkovic
Teamtalk:
It's our last game of the season and our final chance to influence our chances of winning the league. I want your all, leaving everything you have on the pitch.
I want good attacking football, with a high tempo, high pressing approach. In front of us this week, we see some talented youngsters but not much experience. I want us to press the ball hard. Don’t give them time on the ball to think and push them into mistakes. Make it hard for them to keep their shape. We don’t see the experienced head who will grab them by the scruff of the neck and give them a talking too! We are playing a front three and two hard working CMs alongside Xavi to help us do this. We will also target their full backs , so playing the two wingers high up will also help us to achieve this. Finally, we see a potential weakness with their keeper, so really want to test him early.
Attacking Tactics:
Xavi to be play maker, Motta and Marrone to play box to box to support. Get the ball to the wide men who will attack the full back positions and get crosses into the box for the height of Streller. Early on, hang some high ones up close to the keeper for Streller to challenge for. We want to see how he handles the pressure. If we get on top, and have control, Motta can sit back deeper and allow the full backs to bomb on and provide further width and further target the full backs. In this case, the wingers can tuck inside and get closer to Streller. Late on, Zivkovic will come on to provide fresh legs to run with the ball at the tiring CBs.
Defensive Tactics:
Vlaar to pick up the main striker, probably Castaignos. Jedvaj will either pick up any second striker, or midfield runners as the spare man sweeping up around Vlaar. Full backs will pick up the wingers, keep them high up the pitch and facing away from goal as much as possible. The three CMs to protect the back four, with Marrone and Motta box to box. If we get on top and have control), Motta will drop deeper to protect the defence (allowing the FBs to push on)
Subs:
Losing on 80 minutes, Murillo, Klaassen and Zivkovic on, Marrone, Brahimi and Januzaj off – go to 3-4-3 with Fabinho and Bernat as wingbacks
If winning on 80 minutes, Zivkovic and Ongenda on, Streller and Brahimi off. Same formation, more of the same!
- Spoiler:
- Stevens-----------------
Yedlin---------Gonzales----Zouma-------Rojo
---------Carvalho----Rabiot----Clasie---------
Promes--------------Castaignos------Mokhtar
Afro tends to play a 4-2-3-1 so we've plumped for a 4-3-3 formation with heavy emphasis of the midfield trio of Rabiot, Carvalho and Clasie overwhelming the centre of the pitch, restricting Xavi whilst allowing the speed of our wings to provide the outlet and threats to the title challengers.
Defence
A back four with Gonzales given the role of picking up the main striker as they enter threatening positions, be aware of their movement but ensure you don't get dragged out of position. Zouma to assist where required but to pick up threats from Januzaj/Klaassen etc if they break into the danger zone. Fullbacks to shepherd their wingers on the outside, no rash challenges and going to ground, slow their attacks down and block crosses. Rabiot main defensive of midfield trio, look to stay back when our FBs go forward.
Attack
Clasie to take the role of playmaker, look for movement of FBs linking up play with wingers especially with the acceleration of Yedlin. Carvalho to play in the box to box role of the central core and split their defence with runs when opportunity arises. Wingers to use FBs coming forward to find space whilst Castaignos charged with pockets of movement to take markers out of position.
Subs: 80m Gauld, Muric and James on for Muric, Promes and Rojo. Straight swap with fresh legs for the last ten minutes to exploit the oppositions weariness.
Re: Week 10 Results by Koba
Good work Viva.
Hero - it was a bit harsh on Muric to put him on and then take him straight off again
