So Christian Ponder is expected to start tonight.

21-0 to the Packers. Christian Ponder has just thrown consecutive interceptions including a pick 6. The Vikings back up QB tonight is the 2012 Mr Irrelevant Chandler Harnish. He surely can't be any more irrelevant than Christian Ponder?

Further proof to scrap TNF.
Anyway I look forward to GB becoming a trendy SB pick again.

Yeah but Ponder has a super hot wife, and Chandler Harnish sounds like the kind of guy that spends a lot of time watching babestation.

TNF is wildly unfair to the away team (usually) and being divisional games they're important

To be honest its not condusive to upsets. On a short week, there isn't the time for coaches to install complicated gameplans or for the players to fully rehab so its usually a case of best team wins in a landslide.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
I have three ideas for TNF:-
1) Scrap it. The NFL wouldn't like this though as it loses a live game, revenue, exposure etc
2) Move it to Saturday nights. Thid would be good for fans, give the teams more time to prepare and be a proper start to the NFL weekend rather than play a game then have nothing to two days. Probably not going to happen because of college football though.
3) Add another game and have two divisional games on a Thursday. The idea would be each division takes it in turns for a bye week and then play the following Thursday. Therefore teams would have about 10 days to prepare instead of 3.
This would also reduce the number of TNFs.
The AFC East would have a bye in week 4 and then play divisional TNF games in week 5. The AFC North would have a bye in week 5 and play on Thursday in week 6 and so on.
The only problem I see with this would be the International Series games.

On the ukpats forum one guy is genuinely calling for Belichick to be sacked like he hasn't coached this team to a conference title game like every season for the past decadetwelve283 wrote:Too fkn funny. Got to ask some questions of his coaching style though. He's not had a good defense in years and the way he uses his RB's is clinically insane.
Wouldn't mind if the Jets picked up Thompkins off waivers.

Not sure why you'd want thompkins if he can't even make our dumpster fire of a WR corps he's not good
I'd say those are more questions of his GM ability than coaching (and I think serious questions around his ability to draft players can be asked especially offensive skill players)

He showed promise as an undrafted rookie. You can't just assume he's done now because one coach said so. Countless players get cut by teams then prove to be decent NFL players on another.

He has 200 yards and 17 catches since week 6 last season.
He was UDFA for a reason. He's really not very good

So that means you should never take a chance on a promising player when your one and only healthy receiver is Jeremy Kerley?
That's no slight on Kerley, btw, I love him and he's fantastic at what he does.

Thing is with Thompkins there's a very low ceiling which he's already potentially hit. He's not quick, hands are poor, not a good route runner, not the biggest, and like the rest of our WR's barring Edelman he doesn't seperate
He's just very meh, take a flier on DaRick Rogers I would he's got potential to be turned around

He missed 8 games after Week 6 and started only 2. That's a terribly out of context stat.
In Weeks 1-5 of the 2013 regular season, he was in on average 90.6% of the Offensive Snaps. In those games, he had 18 receptions for 273 yards.

So he's David Nelson who was our best receiver last year.
I also love Da'Rick Rogers but he has had off field issues for a long time and getting a shot in the NFL hasn't curbed those issues.

So the Bucs lose to the Rams at home, get obliterated by the Falcons on prime time, beat Pittsburgh on the road and set to beat the Saints on the road.

So Alex Henery still sucks.
The Saints don't have any weapons with Graham injured and/or triple teamed. Cooks isn't there yet, theres a trio of decent RBs. Cutting Sproles and Jenkins adrift for shinier replacements looks an awful call at present.
