I think my pain is only amplified by the fact that the highlight of my night is Dallas beating Seattle.
I really do hate Seattle that badly.

Redskins have lost 13 of their last 14.
Their one win in that stretch was against Jacksonville.
That's a serious case for saying that they are the worst team in the league.

Chip Kelly turned the Bucs down in 2012. Hes won 3 games more in 16 less attempts than Schiano and Lovie. That has to sting.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
And suddenly the NFC East is legit again.
Steelers are on the verge of becoming the new Cowboys. They've stagnated for a few years now.
NE won't need to be particularly good to win the AFC East, whether they match up to Denver is another question.
With a broken rib limiting his movement, Cams been lights out in the pocket.
Pencil in Aaron Rodgers for MVP. This isn't a vintage Packers team
Likewise pencil the Bucs in for the #1 pick. This is an awful team, lacking the will to fight of Jacksonville or Oakland.
Geno Smith wasn't awful, but with Denver selling out to stop the run, he has to do more.
Roster and potential move aside, Derek Carr makes Oakland an easy sell to prospective HCs.
Said it weeks ago, Kirk Cousins will be returning to the bench shortly. Has a tendency to implode in big moments. RG3 may not be the answer, but hes better.
Good Jay Cutler showed up. Chicagos stuck rolling the dice hoping he does for 4 games in January.
If you can control the LoS and run the ball, you can beat Seattle. They're built to beat timing passing offenses, not power run games.

Think whether we match up to Denver depends on injuries. If Gronk's fit we can keep up and run them close I think

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
Been off here for a few weeks, so I will try not to be too contentious. Agree with most of what GSC posted. Broncos are still the team to beat in the AFC, but the Chargers and Colts are each making their own case. Everyone else is next tier. Pats don't have the talent, Bengals don't know how to finish and nobody else is capable of beating the top 3. I reckon the AFC championship is between the Broncos and the team they don't play in the round before.
NFC is more open. I have to say the Cowboys impressed me last night and I hate to say that. Then again, it's not December yet... Bears, Packers, Eagles and Seahawks are up there, but Panthers are also coming on again. Regardless, its still the Seahawks conference to lose, so I reckon championship will be them and the Cowboys in a rematch. And I can see Carroll easily coming up with a few wrinkles to turn the tables on the Cowboys.
Before the season I'd have probably put a couple of quid on a SB rematch, and I don't see any reason to change that view, but it's not clear cut like last year.
Oh, and the Skins are not the worst team in the league. That's the Jets. Or the Buccs. Maybe the Jags (but they do have Bortles). Nope, its the Jets. Ryan has to be out of a job by February surely?

Got to be Fisher's last year if they don't make the playoffs. Good talent, a bit held back at the QB spot, sure. But not showing the improvement year on year to compete in that division.
Arizona have less talent and they're leading it.

Interesting news regarding the International Series. It is being reported that the Super Bowl hosts in future will have to give up a home game and play at Wembley within five years of being the hosts.

I dunno skins.... when you're 1-13 over your last 14 games and the only team you beat was Jacksonville, then that's a pretty strong case. Yeah, there's a few very talented players on the team but overall, this is a team that just doesn't know how to win games and continually makes more than enough mistakes to lose them. There are still weaknesses to be found in pretty much all areas of the team. Gruden has a big job to do... and he already looks weary. I do like the guy though. Needs to run the ball more though... the best way to limit Cousins' mistakes is to have him throw less.

Skins are fine at RB, WR, LT, OLB, DL (kinda).
QB is unknown, leaning towards problem at present.
Defense has been in need of a rebuild for a few years now, Haslett hasn't done enough to keep his job this long. Suspect Orakpo will walk with Murphy in the background

Surely then an even stronger case for being the worst team is not even being able to beat the Redskins? Or are the Jaguars now so bad they don't even qualify to be the worst team in the NFL?Number-25 wrote:when you're 1-13 over your last 14 games and the only team you beat was Jacksonville, then that's a pretty strong case.

Indeed shame the rest of the team sucks, and the coach is making bizarre decisions week in week out. A good QB can only do so much (as Atlanta are showing)

A good Qb will make up much more deficiencies than any other position. Fastest way to turn your team around is to get a QB

Acquiring a dynamic playmaker for a 6th Round pick (which could become a 4th) and the Jets are still getting heat. I don't see how this is anything other than a fantastic deal for the Jets.

Probably something to do with the fact only one team wanted anything to do with him for only a 6th rounder.

Kirk Cousins is a turnover machine.
He's just indescribably rubbish.
He's doing a great job of making donkeys like Joe Theissman who were saying at the start of the season that he should start ahead of Griffin look like complete idiots.
He makes Rex Grossman look like a safe pair of hands.
