Forgot Demariyus when I listed top receivers! Such a great player. A lot of very good receivers, each slightly different from the next.
I saw people proclaiming the NFC South to be the best in the league during the offseason. Guess the opposite is true. I do think that either Atlanta or Saints could just get the offence hot at the right time along with a productive defence and are suddenly a nightmare in the playoffs

Both are too soft to run the table on the road in the postseason.

Who does take Mariota and Winston? The Jaguars, Vikings and Raiders have Bortles, Bridgewater and Carr respectively.
That leaves the likes of the Jets, Titans, Buccaneers, Redskins and Rams.

If Tennessee and st Louis don't take qb's in the first round this year they should be wiped off the landscape

Weekly Roundup of the Week.
As talented as he is, Percy Harvin is a hail mary for the Jets season. Wonder where this urgency was when all the FA CBs were being snapped up.
Alright the defense was awful, but thats the kind of game you pay Jay Cutler 100m to win.
Likewise Andy Dalton.
And something from Mr Kaepernick.
With the season on the verge of being done, the Giants have some awkward questions to answer on Eli and Coughlin. Sounds familiar
The Cowboys go as far as DeMarco Murray takes them. If (when?) he gets injured you suspect the defense will collapse, which is why Randle gets another chance.
The season began with questions whether Cousins could usurp RG3. His season ended with a benching for Colt McCoy.
Atlanta is still soft. Hope Ryan has health insurance.
Buffalo's pulling out wins over bad teams, you suspect this staff may still be in trouble.
Are the Lions legit or the Saints just awful?
There goes the Cleveland hype.
The Chargers are mortal once more. Reminder that they're a good rather than great side.
Derek Carr is a ray of sunshine in an otherwise gloomy season

Could be reasonably interesting if the Raiders/Jags end up picking 1-2, will be a lot of teams desperately trying to get up there to get Mariota/Winston. Does Geno get another season or do the Jets snag a QB if they get the chance?

Winston looks a good player, but he also seems to have the maturity and general down to earth common sense of Johnny Manziel. Is anyone really going to pay the sort of price that would be needed to move up for him?JDizzle wrote:will be a lot of teams desperately trying to get up there to get Mariota/Winston.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
Mariota goes first IMO because someone falls in love and trades up or takes him.
Cook and Winston I reckon probably go top 20 but don't think either gets traded up for. Both will have people split I think when they are taken.
Sounds early but looking at Raiders schedule could they go 0-16. Easiest away game is Rams which I cannot see them winning. Home games are Broncos, Niners, Bills and Chiefs.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
If we get the first pick we need to trade it away and let someone pay us a lot for Mariota. Whether we let Reggie use those picks is another matter - he's not shown he can draft all that well so far barring a couple of players like Moore and T.J. Carrie.
Carr can be our QB if we can build a line and get receivers with normal person hands. Hands that aren't smothered in butter. Hands that can stop an object from moving and keep it from then hitting the ground.
I'm looking at you, Andre Holmes.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
We have plenty of rock-handed receivers as it is to be fair. He may get some snaps.
Andre Holmes seems to be able to make incredibly difficult catches, and then drops a five yard slant. If he's consistent he's a good player.
T.J. Carrie looks legit at corner and on special teams though. Aside from Woodson he's the only guy making plays in the secondary.

Following on from the best wide receivers discussion, how would you guys rank the top running backs?

As a Pack fan, really want the Falcons to win, but can't see it somehow. A close game would be nice too.

Dunno but Chris Ivory runs with more desire than any of them. It's a joy to watch.

It looked like a good match up when it was announced but the Falcons and have been pretty bad this season so far and the Lions look strong in defence. I am looking more now to the Jaguars upsetting the Cowboys next month.TM Moot wrote:Anyone going on Sunday? I'm heading up from sleepy Somerset on Saturday, can't wait...

It is genuinely amazing the amount of calls Denver get away with and get. That penalty on the Weddle interception was the most bogus call I've seen all year

I'm going to it, just would be disappointing not to see Megatron play, as that was one of the main reasons for wanting to go to this game!
