Ultimately United added to a logjam up front by adding Falcao when they already needed to pick 2 from 3. Theres no point playing Mata if he isn't playing in the hole as he doesn't get into the game.

Would Mata want to move to Roma? I'd rather we sold Rooney than Mata, Mata is a proper player who is better in the hole then Rooney. Have you seen Rooneys touch it's awful, he can't play the tight, intricate passing you need in that role, Rooney is better deeper spraying the ball 50 yards. I like Strootman I wanted him when we signed Fellaini but not if it means losing Mata. No offense to Strootman but it's harder to replace players like Mata, players like Strootman are dime a dozen, any one can be taught how to run but not everyone can play like Mata.

Quite a few players can play better than Mata on current form.

The Mata that stood out 2 years ago has only been seen in fleeting glimpses since.

Cheers Nando.

Mata has been our best player since he joined, agreed he needs to be played through the middle if we want to see the best of him. Disagree that there's quite a few better, it's not his fault he has Poopie behind him and Poopie infront of him (last season) he creates chances and I'd day it's down to the other players last season not being on the same wavelength as him.

Matas just too hipster for the rest of the team.

Hes a luxury player, he needs carried. Thats why Mourinho canned him almost immediately. United aren't good enough to carry him.

I agree with your last point, we are not good enough to carry him but saying that a player of that quality should be excused to an extent but obviously we need to improve defensively for that to happen. Who's Mourinho I hate him with a passion, what did Chelsea achieve by selling Mata nothing and what did Oscar do in the am role? Nothing at all, Mourinho is a germ that needs to be destroyed he can't handle sexy creative players he needs machines. Hazard would have been top 5 players in the world if he wasn't managed by Mourinho.

Ozil played 103 league games in 3 years under Mourinho.

Fabregas was signed to be the centrepiece to his new Chelsea side.

Not sure I buy that.

Ozil was already a good player before Mourinho and it's not hard when you've got the second best player of all time in Ronaldo in your side and Di Maria, Benzema etc.

Fabregas already an established player, Robben, Duff, Hazard, Cole, Kalou, that's on the top of my head. Mourinho ruins players and they don't reach the potential they should have. Robben should have joined United

Yep the same Hazard who would have been nominated for the balon d'or if Mourinho didn't manage him. There's no doubt that Hazard would become a top player during his days at Lille but the truth is Mourinho is not the best at handling flair players and likes he'd players to react and act like machines/robots. Hazard would be a lot better if he was managed by Sir Alex, Pep, Ancelotti etc.

I for one will not be sucked into Mourinho charm, the man is the devil hiding behind a mask, I'll not get suckered into his fake persona you of all people should know he was a poor man's Clough. Mourinho has done more bad for football than good, I'll never rate him as high as some do. Good manager but a destroyer of everything good.

Brian Clough may well get a bit too much praise for his style of management. Don't get me wrong, I was a big fan. But he's not the best manager ever for me.

In terms of achievements he's not up there with the greatest winners. In terms of transcending his role and being important then he is up there.

I think he legitimately won his titles, I just don't think he's won enough of them to be the greatest ever.

He did like a bung apparently. But then if I was a manager back then I probably would have too.

If he accepted bribes, I'm sure he offered them to rival managers especially in Europe. The world back then was a mess, 90% of Europe was in turmoil.

Clough "Erm Mr Malmo manager here's £500 please lose to us but make it look convincing"
Malmo gaffer "ja sure Mr Clough we need the moolah"

The end

I'm not saying he's not a great manager, I'm saying he's not the greatest manager. His achievements are remarkable but there is a big patch of time where he wasn't winning trophies. His character marked him out more than his contemporaries.

And I'll say Bill Shankly did the same for Liverpool (and would have won the European Cup if he didn't retire way early like).

Jose Mourinho = Brian Clough Jr
Jose's Jack = Brian's Green Jumper

Both fond of spending big money and breaking transfer records. Both tactically very good and done it at smaller sides.

I tend to pass more at the moment. I'm hitting short and intermediate routes mainly over the middle to my slot guys or the tight end. I run to eat clock and pick up short yardage.
Defense has gotten much better on 15 though, more turnovers this time. Khalil Mack is a beast at 97 OVR in season 2.

I feel the difficulty has been addressed well, it's now harder but the actual gameplay is worse than last year's imo

Very clunky

I'm the opposite, I think the gameplay has been improved a bit from last year. I think in fact the difficulty has gone down! I usually have a couple of seasons on all-pro before going to all-madden but this year I needed barely any time.

I don't play golf, I don't really watch it apart from a little bit of the majors and then if I miss it, I'm not fussed.

But i would watch every second of the Ryder cup if I could. It's golf with bells on it.

One of the best sporting events on the calendar for me.
