Fight Night
Evening gents. Just watching undefeated Boylan.....and he is getting his head boxed off by his opponent.....goodjohn.....last two rounds and I have Goodjohn up by 3 so Boylan needs some KO. Awful boxer with no defence. Has looked amateur. Been a great scrap though. Good start to the night.

Re: Fight Night
Yeh make that 4 up. Another brilliant boxing round. Jab jab jab....great defence and catching Boylan clean when he is on his way in. If he had power he would have probably put him asleep for a week.

Re: Fight Night
Goodjohn by the proverbial country mile for me. Boylan has been poor, defensively very open. Goodjohn has been good though, very slick when on the ropes. Good fight.

Re: Fight Night
Yeh has been a very good fight to be honest. Can't say I'm aware of them!! Great scrap. Boylan caught with an absolute peach uppercut there. I have goodnjohn nailing that by aroumd 5 rounds.

Re: Fight Night
How the fook did someone have that as a draw! If aimlessly plodding forward getting hit was enough to score points mad Dave in my local would be a world champion

Yeh very strange. Had no doubt it would be close for some bizarre reason....judges these days need to all be scrapped from the sport and a new recruiting programme should be started.

Re: Fight Night
Selby frustrates me, never seems to step on the gas and try to get rid of opponents. As you have said his opponent looks ordinary. Hope he does not let him hang around for the distance.

Re: Fight Night
Yeh. Going sit this one out. Complete mismatch. This guy musy have the most ridiculously over hyped record ever I'm boxing. He must have fought random people off the streets to get undefeated in 27!!! My god. I'll switch back on for AJ.

In their defence it was in the context that you're bored of watching both after five rounds, so is not a million miles off.

Do you call him The Welsh Mayweather?
I was looking forward to this fight but it's a bit of a dull one unfortunately.

Re: Fight Night
Haha Rob. Steffan, Selby is a good fighter, but how this is even an eliminator is beyond me. They have just brought an absolute random Aussie over who has an undefeated record in being punched in the face contests, and said...yeh this is an eliminator for a world title. Ridiculous.
Saying that, he is the welsh mayweather....so maybe he is just making a good fighter look pants....or not.

Yeh. That was absolute ridiculous. That Aussie is not world ranked. Not at all. He isn't even Pub ranked.

Re: Fight Night
Going to go out on a limb and say Warrington would beat Selby quite comfortably, neither have devastating power but Josh knows when to step it up a gear and his workrate would be a nightmare.

I agree with Price that he is indeed 6'9 and has a very heavy punch....but he don't have the animal instinct and spite......Joshua would kill him....Price seems too nice.

Re: Fight Night
Be very surprised to see AJ in with Price. He's not the Wiley old pro type of boxer who'll tie him up and give him some experience while he's still learning.
From a learning point of view, don't think he'll get much from A) putting another KO on his record or B) risking getting KOed by a big shot.
However, if you're of the opinion that Joshua's learned enough and should be moved forward much quicker, then it's a great fight for the fans. I'd imagine it's more likely we see him in with a Tony Thompson sooner than a David Price.
Also for the record, I think Selby would beat Warrington handily.

Re: Fight Night
Probably too early for a Price fight but would be a cracking fight while it lasted. Seems they have their route planned and I don't think putting him in with someone with one punch ko power is part of that at least until his chin is tested.
Saw on another site that people had compared his career so far to Wilder's overall. Seemed that people thought that Bakhtov would be Wilder's best win if he'd fought and beaten him. Pretty close I think. 2 or 3 more fights and he'll probably make the top 6 of the rankings if he's 15th now and Wilder is top 5 with most.

I dont want to hype Joshua up too much but I really think he looks ready for Sprott next. In fact I think he knocks Sprott out.

Re: Fight Night
Did the referee bottle the stoppage yesterday? Seemed to step in to end it and then allowed Joshua to carry on before realising his error. The lad looked in a world of trouble and happy for it to stop.
Can't stand that ref anyway 'Listen, I am the referee'. Alright mate, pipe down.

Ian John Lewis. Cracking judge as well.......hmmmm
I'm pretty sure he was involved in the Enzo Mac stoppage...that shouldn't have been.

Re: Fight Night
Come on fellas lets not get carried away. Joshua fought someone 5ft 10 or so without a clue about how to get inside and lacking the strength to do anything once there. Bakhtov was nothing more than a small clueless punchbag who posed no threat at all. This doesn't answer any questions. The fight tells us nothing about Joshuas world class credentials. It showed us he can punch we know that. It showed he has boxing ability....but what world class amateur hasn't. He needs rounds and he needs his stamina checked.

Agree fingers, but who after Sprot? I still think he will be world champion due to his talent and who will there be in another 10 fights/1 year? Good fight to watch with boyln and goodjohn. Selby kind of bores me to be honest.

Re: Fight Night
The ref made a balls of the stoppage alright. He tried to stop it but couldnt and then when he finally go himself in the way he tried to pretend he was only trying to break them up for some bizzare reason. Ive seen him do that before a few times. He often either jumps in too early or too late and then changes his mind.

Catchweight, have you gotten divorced or something? You've been in good humour lately
Re: Fight Night
Yeah that's what I thought Catchweight, he broke them up when they weren't even clinching. Don't know why he changed his mind, the guy was clearly finished!
I like Selby, really like his movement and he cracks me up posturing and chatting away to the camera at the end. 'I'm a bad man, I'm the baddest man!', course you are Lee, you're from the mean streets of Barry's Island!

Nah Id just like to see Joshua in a something approaching a competitive fight.
Id be in much better form if I had gotten divorced.
