Anyone know anything about this kid? Have to admit I'd never heard of him until 5 minutes ago, when the ATP rolling headline went past Murray. Sounds like he could be one to keep a close eye on in Valencia this week.

Didn't he reach the final of a challenger recently and lost to Querrey (who really should be above playing challengers btw)?

I might be thinking of the wrong promising young American - seems to be a few on the men's/boys' side now - think other names I've heard are Francis Tiafoe and Jared Donaldson.

Probably a bit early for a wildcard at this level but I suppose a bit of exposure is good commercially if nothing else.

Yeah he reached a Challenger final in Sacramento a few weeks ago, beating his first top 100 player along the way (Smyczek). I saw him play juniors at the USO and I have to say, at the moment, he's one of these players that moves well but doesn't look like has any huge weapons. However, he's only 16 so those may well come in time.

I know Vladimar Kozlov in WWE hailed as the next big thing, no clue about this Kozlov thou.

He is said to face Simon Giles in Basel, it would be a real good test for the kid.

He went down 3 & 3 to Klizan today. No shame there at all.

He was runner-up in two junior slams this year - Australia & Wimbledon. I didn't realise he'd played in so many non-junior events already. Looks like it's working for him so far, only 16 and already ranked in the 400s.

He looks about 12.  Wink

(I should point out that The Special Juan mentioned Kozlov's age a few comments earlier.)
