First topic message reminder :
Probably much easier to get motivated to play for AC Milan than QPR. But I agree with Crimey (for once ), Taarabt should be fired for misconduct if this is true.

1-0. Drogba header. Before that amazing save by De Gea.

I don't think he was Duty, just once for the Hazard foul.
Best performance and result of the season so far and the defensive effort was much improved, was all a bit too left footed going forward though.

Phil Dowd wasn't exactly clear with who he was booking, I much prefer a ref to call the player over and then book them.

Rooney and Falcao will add some right footedness for the coming games. Was rather odd seeing 4 left footers in the attacking positions.Hammersmith harrier wrote:I don't think he was Duty, just once for the Hazard foul.

Those two won't make any difference, it's the midfield that was too predictable, everything was going down the left channel or through Rafael down the right.

Not in the way I was referring to Dolph maybe Rooney I suppose, it's in the build up play that was a problem, it's odd seeing seven left footers play, must be a premier league record.

And the fact Ivanovic likes to go for a roam so there will be more space down the Chelsea left. Bit of a problem at FB for Chelsea next week, although it should be straight forward with QPR at home. Here's praying Costa/Remy is fit.

I think RVP's generally poor movement slows things down, so if Falcao comes in and is full of running then he'd be much better. Think its a shame we havent been able to see Mata and Falcao together with Rooney out, think it could have brought goals

I agree with DZ, Falcao's movement adds a huge amount more to Utd going forward.

For me the difference for Utd in this game compared to last season is they fought like two heavyweights going toe to toe, there were glimpses of the Utd of old and the 94th minute equaliser encapsulated that spirit. Last season against the top four they played with fear.

That is a telling statistic right there. United were very fortunate to not lose but still showed some fight in the last 10 minutes or so of the match that I felt was pretty dull over all. For the incredible expenditure they made in buying out Moyes, paying Van Gaal, and spending a record sum of money in the last couple of transfer windows we basically have seen a pretty poor return. Still can't see them not getting in the top 4 as liverpool looks a much weaker side.

First off we need a goal tonight.
Not scored since the win at Anfield.
Need to win. 4 defeats in a row is soul destroying, no matter who you play.
QPR will be up for it, especially after last weeks disapointment.
C'mon Villa lets have a win and a good onre at that, especially on tv.

Agree with Ent that Fellaini had a good game yesterday. One swallow doesn't make a summer etc but it should at least give him more confidence next time out.
One United player though that I've yet to ever see play well (at least defensively and that is his day job) is Rafael. Loses concentration regularly and has a poor footballing brain.

Yeah, I don't get Rafael's inclusion in the squad he doesn't really seem to give them very much and is a liability both with his decision making and his lack of ability in the air.

He is actually decent in the air but hes only 5ft8.
He's brain dead, stood and watched drogba completely free for the chance de gea saved with his legs.
It is a pity as he has decent attributes.
Chelsea really missed Costa, drogba offered nothing in behind and as a consequence there was no or little room for the 3 attackers.
I think chelsea were easy to defend against rather than uniteds defense being greatly improved. Still it is a confidence boosting performance.
Mata was poor again and as we all know di Maria isn't anywhere near as effective out wide.

I'm pleased for him. Had a tough time at Newcastle of late, so glad to see him turning it around. Same thing with Allardyce at WHU, good to see English managers doing well, instead of being sacked. Newcastle will be fine, they also have De Jong to come back & now Williamson has been dropped, Taylor has made the defence look more solid. As for WHU, top 8 should be the target, it's inevitable they will drop some places but the squad looks strong & pacey.
As for the Chelsea game, I think they were playing way below what they can achieve, made United look better than usual. Phil Dowd had an absolute mare with the Ivanovic decisions. I expect next weekend at the Etihad, City will do to United, what Chelsea should of done.

Yip Chelsea were below par, United without Rooney, and an ageing RvP leading the line probably did as well as they realistically could have hoped. Still, Six points ahead of City after nine game weeks, Mourinho would happily take that. Really, might as well crown them now.

QPR v Villa tonight, how about we concentrate on that fixture.

Another frustrating 45 minutes of watching Villa.

His recent comments just make you want WHU to nose-dive so badly. I work with a WHU supporter, used to never really hear a peep out the lad, 'seen & not heard', nowadays he's mouthing off left, right & centre about football. Same case here it appears.
As for the game, Villa still in this, but as you stated, poor defending from what was essentially a straight forward long ball.

Are you serious? I've stuck up for plenty of teams and I'm only joking about the top four stuff, christ, I'm a West Ham fan, I know the bubbles only float briefly.
Onto the game tonight, this is my problem with Villa. It wasnt a dig Westi (although I don't blame you for the quick response as I'd be equally angry if I were in your shoes right now and having to watch my team go from magnificent to awful in the space of two weeks). Consistency is such a problem for them. to be fair, QPR have got a grip of this game due to Zamora being such a great outball,
If I were to put it down to anything its that QPR are willing to sit deep and play long, and Villa are at their best using their pace in behind and on the counter. I also think their close game with Liverpool has probably got them right up for this, whereas Villa have been on a confidence draining little run.
