First topic message reminder :
Probably much easier to get motivated to play for AC Milan than QPR. But I agree with Crimey (for once ), Taarabt should be fired for misconduct if this is true.

well you can't say it wasn't coming. Poor from Di Maria who completely loses his man, lovely pull-back from Clichy and a strong finish from that man Aguero.

Yeah nice finish by Aguero. Whoever didn't put a 5 on coral, you've just missed free printing money.

What a pivotal moment in the season. The moment Aguero went in the lead ahead of Costa.

The United counter attack not quite on par with the Madrid one there.

Is Fernando good for anything other than sharing a name with the equally useless Fernandinho?

Speak of the devil. Yaya, Fernando and Fernandinho shutting up shop in the same midfield... this will not end well.

We may have lost but what the hell were City thinking in those twenty minutes, completely lost the plot but fortunately was against a leg weary ten men.

City should be embarrassed by that performance.
2 defensive midfielders on against 10 men, no ambition.
Dreadful.

A morale victory unfortunately comes with 0 points but can come away knowing Utd are capable of battling against the two best teams in the country once more.

I wouldn't get carried away. Chelsea really missed Costa and both sides had no ambition once leading and let us into it.

Fail to see the point you're making there Ent, we got back into both games because of a revitalised determination to fight to the final whistle.

Both teams brought on defensive midfielders and tried to see it out, one against 10 men.
No point in kidding ourselves.

Last season v City we were battered 4-0 with eleven men.
This season we narrowly lost 1-0 with ten men.

So we should ignore the fact that our players despite being a man down showed a lot of fight trying to salvage a point?

Look, that's the minimum to expect - I dont see it as an omen that we will spring into great form, still loads of issues.

This might be the worst start to a season we've had in years but at least we're not capitulating against the top teams like we did last season, none of it compares to getting points on the board but at least it's something.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
im actually with ent to an extent. United caught city at heir worst for over a year or so & they were nervous, lacking confidence & had their most influential master in silva missing. Chelsea never blow teams away under Jose, were missing Costa, who's their difference maker & are happy winning 1-0. I both games United never, ever looked like winning. You can argue the score lines are close but city/Chelsea still in a different league. United got issues all over the park. Defensive crisis, worst start ever, no consistency, shocking away form. Blown millions & you still look midtable outfit. Progress, if u can call it that, is minimal, so not sure where this positivity is coming from. Gonna take a few years from what I'm seeing at United to turn this around.

In honesty though this is largely due to Michael Olivers inability to see a penalty

I think lvg will get us there.
What he can't stop is stupidity from the players, like smalling today.
Needs to get di Maria central - 3 games out wide and 3 poor performances.
