WWE Developmental has been given a hard time from some corners, for people saying "where is the development".

And with so many wrestlers coming as established and well crafted talents from indys and other organizations (e.g. Zayn, Owens, Neville, Balor, Bryan, Rollins, Ambrose, Itami) and NXT often not doing anything more than changing the name, it is a good argument.

But I don't think that development has been a complete washout. Rusev, Reigns and Wyatt, I'd all say were pretty much full products of the WWE system. I think it is just that NXT needs to get that balance right, so it can exist as its own show and develop talent that is ready for WWE.

Kalisto was already fairly well established before going into WWE developmental to be fair.

I don't necessarily think its about teaching them how to Wrestle but more how to make themselves more presentable to the TV audiance rather than just the fans in the arena's...I remember HHH talking about Balor and how he was as good as he'll ever be as far as in ring goes but it was all about teaching him how to work the camera and work on his timing be in inside the ring or just on his entrance

The only thing I suspect will happen is they'll start a new program for Bray Wyatt, possibly against Reigns.

I think their decent enough to be in singles matches when they need to be, but dont expect to see him in any kind of program as a singles star until Jey is ready to come back.

To be honest I think its actually a blessing in disguise. Since Elimination Chamber last year to WrestleMania playbutton they've been in EVERY tag team title match. They act was starting to get stale and a long period of time away gives people a chance to miss them.

The tag team division is starting to look pretty strong again with alot of decent teams. I dont have faith WWE know what to do with them however.

If this is true that'd be Joe and The Briscoes passing on WWE in just over a week, further proof to the notion that the E is selling a promise of big money to these guys who have the name value to make the big bucks outside of there.

Personally I'm quite glad if he doesn't go as outside of a few select NXT matches there's a lot of stuff I'm much more excited about him doing on the indys/Japan, I think NOAH would do well to snap him up and put the belt on him as while this Suzuki-gun invasion has done a lot to freshen up the product they are in dire need of someone to take the strap off Minoru that doesn't return to the status quo and Joe could be just the guy.

Most reports I heard were that they were definitely offered contracts, but ROH came back with a better deal that they accepted, presumably to avoid disruptions to their family lives/outside business ventures that moving to Orlando would entail

I could be wrong but those are the reports I've heard, and lets be honest when has someones moral character been an issue for WWE unless it becomes mainstream news?

Ive heard similar of recent efforts, it was a couple years back I think that WWE turned sour on them after the homophobic stuff, but its been a while of "good behaviour." ROH offered more money I think, or at least comparable money with less disruption. Personally, think the long term gain is a silly thing to turn down, and I really dont feel like they will a great deal more to achieve in ROH, but each to their own

I very much had the impression that was WWE covering themselves, as there was strong talk of them going to WWE and to my understanding those tweets are old. The story sounds much more that WWE were only offering developmental money to proven draws. And I think wrestlers can look at AJ Styles for example and ask, is WWE really the right move? And I wonder also if the way Rey was treated in getting out of his contract is something that independent guys weigh up.

I think the other interesting WWE story is Dana Brooks. I've not seen NXT yet, but I see a lot of people nonplussed by her debut. And this is a potential NXT problem for me, they have the bar so high with Zayn, Neville, Owens, Balor, Itami, et al, is there really genuinely that much developmental room? In WWE's developmental program, they've set an expectation that wrestlers debut pretty much as the full article.
