Just taken from the bbc. What are you thoughts on murrays career?

Former British and European lightweight champion John Murray has been forced to retire at the age of 29 because of a serious eye injury that could lead to blindness.
The 29-year-old from Manchester, who won 33 of his 36 professional bouts, has had two operations for a detached retina.
Murray challenged for the vacant WBA world title in 2011, but was beaten by Brandon Rios in New York.

Shame decent boxer who was ducked by Khan. Rios came a little too late for him. Sad.

Sorry should have read the article properly.

Good honest pro that found his level to be just short of world. Glad he is getting out of the game before doing any more damage.

Loved his fight with Mitchell , might have to watch it again.

One of my favourite fighters. Glad he won't be taking any more shots and pleased to see he's opening the gym he was hoping to after finishing.

Looked formidable against Thaxton, Buckland and Kudriavtsev but liked a pint (which didn't help). Gallagher claimed he went on a bender prior to the Rios fight. Murray claimed Gallagher abandoned him after he was misdiagnosed with a brain tumour.

Maybe they'll meet again as trainers down the road. Hope John can earn a living as a coach.

Where's he opening his gym?
There isn't enough around North Manchester.

Joe Gallagher should hang his head in shame over this.
