The v2 Wrestling podcast - Destination TNA
http://v2wrestling.com/5/post/2014/11/the-v2-wrestling-podcast-destination-tna.html
Welcome back to another edition of the v2 Wrestling podcast and welcome to all of our listeners on TNAsylum.com and 606v2.com
This week the team is made up of your host Adam, along with regulars Chris and Paul who proceed to talk about the goings on in TNA.
In a change from the usual proceedings, we focus solely on TNA this week, with a look at the new US TV deal and how we would book the very first Impact on the new network. And this is the big question of the week – what would the opening and closing segment be to make the most of the soon to be hyped show?
Do you agree with the suggestion forwarded by Gavin and have Jeremy Borash explain the show to new viewers? Or do you agree with Adam in that the show should open with Alberto Del Rio to get the show trending quickly?
And how do you end it? On a cliffhanger? Or do you leave a feelgood ending?
If you want to answer our question of the week, please email us at wrestling@v2journal.com or contact us through twitter or facebook and please make sure to submit any questions you would like us to discuss!

I think its a tough one, but I'd go all out if I could. Number One, try to get it live, maybe throw a few EXTRA resources. Number Two, get a titantron. Titantron's are for the big league wrestling shows, curtains are for little leagues. In WWE you'll see a titantron, on ROH, a curtain.
Number three, assemble all the TNA roster around the ring have JB in the middle and cut a promo a few minutes long on what TNA is. No need to go too indepth. And then, a legend of TNA should appear. Come to the ring, surprise everyone. Put TNA over on the mic in a big way, I dunno Foley or someone whoever they can get, AJ Styles would be another good choice if he'd do it which is unlikely. Just find someone.
Then have Storm's faction come out start a big brawl and then Angle and security can calm it all down. So within say the first 15 or 20 minutes you've shown anything can happen in TNA. That's kind of explosiveness a first episode would need.
As for the rest of the show, I would have a World title match as the main event, have Roode retain, introduce some of the wrestlers in short 30 second video packages, and have about 4 matches. Introducing the roster again I think may be needed, it might not be what longtime TNA fans want but it would help bring new fans on board and there will be a lot of them.

I suddenly agree with Gavin's calmer approach. A faction starting a brawl is not good.

Re: The v2 Wrestling podcast - Destination TNA
I think rather than have all the roster in the ring and JB doing a promo, a video montage of some of the best recent storylines would do a better job of showing what TNA is about.
Even though they're supposed to be moving into a new era, a bit of history would show new viewers that this isn't some fly-by-night promotion and that they have a bit of pedigree.
Also, rather than an all-out brawl, I'd have a battle royale / gauntlet match to find a #1 X Division contender for Low Ki's first title defence.
TNA are probably best known for the X Division - it one of the things that separates them from WWE. What better way to hype it and showcase their talent in that division?
I think a heavyweight title match could wait...leave something big for a later show IMO...
