End of year awards
First topic message reminder :
Doesnt someone usually run these about now?
You know - the ones where we vote for our favourite article, poster etc?
Anyone want to volunteer to do it~?

You win it next year, too.

Re: End of year awards
I figured this year I would just come up with a set of awards, cast fake votes and then announce the winners some time after Christmas; lets be frank as long as Strongback gets his 'V2 Hearn Hater' award, Truss reclaims his WUM of the year award and JBW gets his annual 'Funniest Poster Award' (yet posts nothing boxing related) everyone will be happy.
Saves you guys the hassle of what I know is an incredibly difficult task of voting and me the bother of having to slowly and methodically vent my fury to the point i'm downing a bottle of whisky on xmas eve whilst telling anyone who will listen that all I really wanted for christmas was you god awful lot to reply and vote!
I was going to do one, but the last 4 months odd the place seems to have died a bit of a slow death so didn't think there was much point if i'm honest.

I'll have you know I beat Truss to WUM of the Year these last two years. Look at Toppy's thread today, I had Truss pis$ing his pants and wanting me to "f**k off" for good.

I think people are bored with the petty squabbles, pointless rivalries, pedantic disagreements, personal insults, repetitive arguments and 'tired in jokes'. These things dominate the board - there's not enough boxing debate (and when there is debate it tends to centre around the soap opera aspect of boxing - the crap - promoters, TV contracts etc).
Those are the reasons I don't post much, anyway.

For me it is the lack of discussion of Mayweather that does it.

He's more likely to be fantasizing about beards.

Might have a job for him then
Re: End of year awards
This thread's going well. Shall we just close the board and wish everyone happy Christmas and a nice life... Apart from all the people we hate. So, just close the board and skip the happy Christmas bit?

Re: End of year awards
Look milky, us giving Chris the end of year awards is as much a tradition on here as Dave falling out with someone on a daily basis. You'll endure it with the same forced grin and pretend good grace as the rest of us.

To be honest 3...These boards are an extension of the BBC war zone 606..
As most posters peruse before offering up opinion.....I guess they know what to expect....
I'd like to see more Boxing orientated stuff but as long as punks like Rowley, Hampo and Chris are determined to cause arguments then what chance have we got ????

You forget that Meat trombone soloist CaptainCarrantuohil with his constant veering off topic with flowery poetry about his love of David Haye and Our 'enry
Re: End of year awards
Most missed former poster: ONETWOFOREVER
Best newcomer: ONETWOFOREVER
Matchrooms sponsored poster of the year: All 606v2 posters (excluding Strongback)
Most argumentative posters: ONETRUSS vs ONETRUSS
Most obvious pseudo intellect: Chris88 - we could all make up boxers that existed before video tapes and paper were invented. Its not big and it's not clever.

I don't know about all this funniest poster business. I attempt to share the prestige of my boxing journalism with the laymen and apparently he laughs at what he cannot understand.
