Ultra White Collar Boxing
Hi
Has anyone had any involvement in this? If so how hardcore are the fights? I have signed up for it but I am unfit and haven't boxed for almost 20 years...

When you say Ultra white collar does this mean they're top level bankers and executives who are fighting?
Does STRONGY know, he could sign up.

Don't know. That is just what it's called. I am certainly not a banker but I would enjoy smashing one...

Poor Strongy, he won't be happy unless you've got at least 5 gazillion spare in the bank mckay.
Fancy letting us plebs get in on it now.
If you look further down the board, there was an article at some point about one of the other users that did a white collar event. Sounded like fun

Maybe it's a reference to the whiteness of their collars? Could be sponsored by Daz.

Re: Ultra White Collar Boxing
Just taken part in my third UWCB event a couple of weeks ago. There always seems to be a good mix of complete beginners and lads that have done it a fair few times. The fights are even, referees experienced and medical professionals at ringside.
As a boxing fan there's not a better experience, and it gives so much more meaning to a training session or run. But best of all, it gets you very fit for free.

I watch a few events a year and have friends which fight on them. Stamina is the best weapon you can have in there as 70% gas very early, swinging for the fences.

I do like the term Ultra White Collar though. Seems to suggest white collar boxing had too much riff raff sneaking through.

Re: Ultra White Collar Boxing
White collar is a watered down version of unliscened, I guess. It's all about levels. And no one can fault anyone competing against similarly matched opponents. My objection is when decent amateurs who are ringers (have undisclosed amateur bouts on their card) compete against rank novices and claim glory.

Re: Ultra White Collar Boxing
Not much glory in winning a white collar fight is there? It's a charity event most if not all of the time.
The ref's protect the fighters by continually breaking the fights up. I've seen the rounds being shortened if one fighter is clearly better than the other.
It will get you fit though, be prepared to work hard. Even if it is for fun a ring is no place to be if you are puffed after 30 seconds.
