Tonight's fights
Anybody know the time of Andy Lee's fight? I've seen that khan has tweeted he's ring walking at 4am. Anybody staying up for the fights?

Spencer, just tuned in to BoxNation - just Buncey ranting and looking at pictures that have tweeted by viewers at the moment mate. Think Farrag might be up next, though.

You need to get your offspring trained to wake up at all hours of the night Wheely, like mine. Its a pain in the 'arris 30 days a month, but perfect on Vegas fight nights!

Re: Tonight's fights
Couple of rounds in to the Farrag fight now, Spencer. He's moving well and walking Lane on to some really nice, sharp right hand counters, but Lane is giving him a bit to think about when he's got him to the ropes and has pressed quite well.

Cheers Chris. Got my fingers crossed for him. I know some of his family so have always kept an eye on his career. Hopefully he can get the belt.

Re: Tonight's fights
4-0 in rounds to Farrag. It's become a bit more of a brawl and the fight has come to the boil a bit, though. Lane is having his moments but Farrag's working the body well and shook Lane up in the fourth with a big right hand counter. Might be interesting late on if Farrag keeps getting involved more than he should and Lane can keep up the pace to make him tire.

Re: Tonight's fights
Farrag has won it via a stoppage in the seventh, Spencer. Just an accumulation which took it out of Lane eventually - another big right drove him to the ropes and Farrag banged in a couple of body shots which brought the ref's intervention.
Good performance by Farrag against a guy whose record probably doesn't quite do him justice (Lane's boxed mostly against Feathers and Super-Feathers). Farrag's composure looks a bit shaky at times and he brawls when he doesn't need to, but he's got pedigree. They referenced his amateur win over Luke Campbell a couple of time and he can be really accurate and swift with the shots he picks out.
Anyway, I'm off to bed for some kip before the Vegas cards. Hopefully some of you will still be knocking about then. Ta-ra for now.

Yeh in still knocking about just turning on Sky Sports.....exciting times. Should be a good card. Believe Charlo won via wide UD. Won every round.
See Spence Jr won again via stoppage.
Looking forward to this card.

Yeah mm8, Mares-Ramirez was good fun, wasn't it? An all-out war.
Just about to get going with Herrera-Benavidez on BoxNation. Who else is taking a peep at that while Sky go back to the studio?

Re: Tonight's fights
Let me start by saying I did enjoy that Mares scrap; however at the risk of stirring the pot...if that had been a tough Englishman in with say Groves on a Hearn bill I could only imagine the stuff that would be spewed by people!
Chris - I've skipped over a couple of times, caught a bit of Herrera who looks like he's out to upset the apple cart again...back on SS for the Thurman fight now.

Re: Tonight's fights
Herrera clearly takes the first two rounds, boxing well behind that jab as he comes forward and giving Benavidez precious few opportunities to counter, just as he was against Garcia.
Mind you, leaving that one for now to see how Thurman looks.

It will be pretty impressive if Thurman stops Bundu here

Re: Tonight's fights
You wonder whether anyone can genuinely take the power of Thurman...ridiculous how hard he hits! Safe to say Khan won't be going anywhere near him....in fact outside of Brook I think he may struggle to get a big name in the ring with him. He's looking nice on the actual boxing front as well tonight.
Re: Tonight's fights
Thurman's been immaculate so far. Power, countering, footwork, accuracy - it's all been there. Hard to see what Bundu can do to turn this round, even after only two rounds.

Thurman looks like a beast he looks more powerful than GGG just shows the massive gap between the Franky Gavin's of the world and the elite.

Re: Tonight's fights
Maidana vs Thurman - Surely one of the hot fights for 2015..Porter wouldn't be bad match up either with his size, toughness and rugged style.
Re: Tonight's fights
P**s*s me right off when they don't even credit any good work by the person losing. Bundu caught him twice at the end there..not a jot mentioned. Be interesting to see how Thurman reacts to someone still standing there in the later rounds.
Re: Tonight's fights
You would think so mate but Thurman rejected that fight yesterday mate.

Re: Tonight's fights
Yeh I had heard he rejected it; issue is, if he is avoided as much as I think he will be then he will have to settle for someone in the ilk of Maidana etc.
What's everyone thinking regards Khan tonight? I've been confident during the whole build up but have a nagging feeling he's going to be knocked out in the 3rd round :/ strong enough nag to stick 10 quid on it!

Re: Tonight's fights
I actually gave that one to Bundu, Thurman didnt do much in that round and it was Bundu forcing the pace and caught him with a couple of nice counters.
Re: Tonight's fights
Credit to Bundu he's rode the early onslaught and taken Thurmans power, he's doing quite well actually looks like Thurman is running out of ideas

Re: Tonight's fights
Yep. But not according to our brilliant commentary team who are clearly believing that Thurman is taking it easyband showing him respect....which is why he has not smashed him in.
Bundu is clearly a hard chappy and making Keith work bloody hard.

Re: Tonight's fights
It's disgusting that it's taken the commentators this long to even credit Bundu with anything. Fair enough was losing the first 5 rounds odd but round 6,7,8 Bundu has crept into a little for me and i'd be happy to give him 2 of those rounds.
Re: Tonight's fights
... Once the narrative is set, they stick to it. I just started watching from the end of the fourth... So missed the knock down etc, but what I 'be watched has been pretty competitive, not the one way traffic, I'm hearing about.

Re: Tonight's fights
They are horrendous they really are; I mean we moan about scorecards etc but this is just as bad. If your a casual fan and you listen to this your taking everything they say at face value and it just discredits boxing and the guys in the ring tbh.
I have Bundu winning 3 of the last four rounds, I'm probably being a tad kind but not a chance he hasn't at least won two of them.

Re: Tonight's fights
So strange this fight, first two rounds I was really impressed but as it's wore on he's actually looked a little clueless as to what to do. Happy to 'box' and I use that term loosely, off the back foot. When he's gone to up the tempo he's actually been caught a few times which would indicate that actually perhaps technically he isn't all that.
Re: Tonight's fights
Bundu needs a KO to win but bloody hell he's done really well in the second half really put it on Thurman

Kinda like what thurman said in interview. Little excuse and realised where his problem where. Maybe vs maidana we will get the fireworks
