Absolute shambles. Seems like Adebayor deal shafted us with Cole, and Olsson couldn't agree personal terms.

Needed players though, desperately. And Cole is better than Anichebe or Ideye(candidate for worst Premier League signing ever)

Van Gaal - "Yesh, it ish clear to me that thish kid ish much better than Hummelsh and over £36 million poundsh cheaper. He alsho will teach Jonesh and Shmalling about the defending without any language barriersh. That will teach you to tell me I am buying Vidal in the shummer. I will tell you who I buy, not the other way round. I am Van Gaal."

To be fair, even if you had some decent to good youth, they've got little chance of making any squad of Van Gaal. He's in it for the next two & a half years, spending as much as possible on established stars & hopefully bowing out with a couple of league titles & maybe a champs Lge, at a push. Won't be until Giggs possibly takes over, that United will go back to focusing on youth progression & the original beliefs of the club.

Blackett, Mcnair, Wilson and Lingard would beg to differ.

That's nonsense really. LVG knows this is a relatively short gig, the direction is to buy world class stars this summer & build the side up as quickly as possible. Let's not kid ourselves, once Hummels et Al come this summer, the youth will be loaned off, some of them haven't even got contracts. If it wasn't for injuries to Evans, Jones, Rojo's dislocation & Smalling, McNair & Blackett wouldn't be given a sniff. Lingard isn't the right wing back LVG wants either, future is bleak for all of them at OT, if we're honest. If Falcao isn't signed, LVG will just go big elsewhere, Wilson would never establish himself under LVG, other than odd cup games. You can name the youth playing this year, reality is, they will have no role once the serious transformation of United happens. It's unfortunate, however, LVG has his single minded plans & United themselves don't have the time to develop youth. The club need instant results to satisfy themselves on the pitch & financially off it too.

Talking a load of nonsense again then, Blackett and Wilson were always going to be given their chance, pre-season showed that. LVG has a long history of giving their chance and so it will continue.

What teams are promoting youth over general first teamers?

Olsson got stuck in snow on the A14 and they couldn't find a fax machine.
