No surprise but Jim Haslett is gone from the Redskins.

NFL.com reporting is so bad though - I'd love them to tell us who the defensive stars are that we have drafted. Ryan Kerrigan is really the only one. That's where I have some sympathy for Haslett - he was never really given the horses to succeed. He should still have done better though. No excuse for having a unit that consistently was unable to tackle anyone.

I have sympathy in the sense that it's hard to believe any defense has been neglected in the way the Redskins defense has over the last 5 years in terms of the personnel.

I'm happy he's gone though. The last two seasons in particular have been just plain embarrassing. I didn't think it was possible to see a group of NFL players be so consistently unable to tackle.

It's buffalo, that is their peak. No QB at all now Orton has gone, no first round pick, no way you'll be lucky enough to get that defensive line all playing that well and healthy for 16 games.

They've peaked, he's done well to get outta there. What sort of stupid ownership builds in an opt out option in a coaches contact anyways

The 49ers are reportedly interested in 'trading' for him.

I'm surprised more head coaches aren't targetted by other teams. The Bears and Jets could certainly offer Bruce Arians more than the Cardinals.

Seattle will beat them though.

Green Bay or Dallas rolling up in Seattle for the NFC Championship is a game I'd like to see.

Andrew Luck is 1-1 vs the Bengals has 6 TDs and no INTs in them two games and a passer rating of 109.6. Luck is 1-2 in the playoffs has 6 TDs and 8 INTs and a passer rating of 70.0.

The Colts won the last meeting between the two teams 27-0 back in October and are on a seven games winning streak vs the Bengals in Indianapolis. The last time Cincinatti won on the road to the Colts was in 1997.

The Colts are 8-2 against the Bengals in their last 10 games with the Colts coming out on top 31-20 in average scores.

The Cowboys are 13-12 against the Lions including splitting wins in previous playoff games. The Lions beat the Cowboys 38-6 in the 1992 playoffs while the Cowboys won their 1970 playoff meeting in the first playoffs after the AFL/ NFL merger.

The Lions have won the last two match-ups between these teams including the previous meeting in Dallas in 2011.

Tony Romo is 2-3 against the Lions but has 10 TDs in those games and only 4 INTs plus a passer rating of 102.2. Romo has made four playoff appearances before and is 1-3.

Matt Stafford is 2-0 against the Cowboys, has 3 TDs and 3 INTS and a passer rating of 82.1. Stafford has just the one previous playoff appearance, a loss to the New Orleans Saints in 2011.

DeMarco Murray has the most rushing yards in the league this year comes up against the best defence againsth the run. The Lions only gave up 1109 rushing yards this season while rushed for 1845 yards.
