Can't see the Cowboys winning this at the moment. The Lions defence is dominating them.

I wouldn't write Dallas off yet. They win in spite of their defense and it's hard to keep their offense down for the whole game.

Missing field goals won't help them. They did manage to keep the Lions to a field goal though.Number-25 wrote:I wouldn't write Dallas off yet. They win in spite of their defense and it's hard to keep their offense down for the whole game.

It's a Lions/Cowboys playoff game; it's not about who shoots themself in the foot, it's about who leaves more toes.GSC wrote:I don't know, this has been Dallas not being particularly good and Detroit tripping over their own feet

Sadly though, they're not gonna be allowed to win this should they somehow get their act together here are they?

Sure the refs were awful, but my word Detroit take a Frak shot down the field to the best wide out in the game.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
The Lions possibly would have got points on the 'picked up flag' drive and made it 23-16 at least or 27-16 add the kick off and that's a different ball game.
Anyway...
Divisional Round
AFC
Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots
Indianapolis Colts @ Denver Broncos
NFC
Carolina Panthers @ Seattle Seahawks
Dallas Cowboys @ Green Bay Packers

Why did it have to be the Ratbirds?
Instead of getting beaten by the Broncos in the Championship game we'll lose to Baltimore in the Divisional round.

Dallas's defence is gonna get absolutely destroyed next week.

I'm actually quite concerned we will throw it away... we have a habit of doing this recently in the playoffs at home.

Dallas will run the ball right down GBs throat. Rodgers is incredible but GB tends to be soft when it matters

Tbf we only lost last time in the playoffs cos we had no Gronk and ended up having to try cover Bolden with Edelman. We're a completely different team this year

I think Dallas have a really good chance against Green Bay. They're 8-0 on the road this year and with that running game, they're built to play in the cold weather. Yeah, the defense is a weakness but often this season they seem to have just about got the job done just well enough for their offense to pull them through.

Woohoo! The Redskins have finally hired a GM. Can't argue with McGloughlin's track record in San Francisco and Seattle so on the face of it, it could be a really good hire..... if he can steer clear of the vodka! Dan Snyder and a GM with a self-confessed history of alcohol abuse... get your popcorn people!

I remember reading a profile on him a while ago, can't find it now, but was a really good read. His track record is excellent, but obviously the alcohol abuse is a potential issue

Yeah, that's the one I had read soddy. Am pleased the Redskins have finally wakened up to the fact they need a GM worthy of the title and that they've gone and got one.... but, you know, it's the Redskins and I'm too used to them makinga mess of stuff now to get too excited. Even if the vodka becomes an issue though, he would still be an upgrade over Bruce Allen!

I think we'll be looking at the St Louis Titans as soon as the Rams bolt to L.A.
They must be the most anonymous franchise of them all right now.

Tennessee Titans average attendance this year is 15th in the league and bigger than seven of the playoff teams including New England and Seattle.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
Just looking at Super Bowl winning quarterbacks and since the expansion in 2002 only one one over the age of 31 has won it. That was Brad Johnson in 2002 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Oakland Raiders (yes those teams used to be good). Since then oldest winning quarterbacks were Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger who both won it just weeks after their birthday. Five other quarterbacks since 2002 over 31 have played in the Super Bowl but were all on the losing team.
So it is not looking good for the chances of Tom Brady, Tony Romo and Peyton Manning.

69k, that's impressive. Although Miami is 13th at 70k and the place always looks half empty/full!?!
