Pats were right to let Revis walk too. You wonder how serious they were about ever wanting him back knowing how much it would cost - prob made the appearance of retaining interest just to drive up how much NY would have to ultimately pay.
Reading the reports it seems like they were out fairly early, and tbf seems like Revis had pretty little intention of returning anyways. Both teams got what they wanted from the year, we got the ring, he got the huge contract

I know it doesn't make headlines, but well chuffed the Pack retained Cobb and Bulaga.
Just need to pick up an ILB or two and a TE (shame Graham headed west!) and then roll on September...

I'm pleased with the Redskins' start to free agency - zero headlines.
Chicago seem intent on remaining mediocre - after trading away Marshall and announcing Cutler will stay, they've signed Antrell Rolle and by the look of it Eddie Royal.
Just read a funny article on NFL.com which stated in all seriousness that the addition of Andre Johnson and Gore makes the Colts the AFC favourites.... really? Two aging guys that took a step back last year have pushed them past Belichick and Brady's Patriots?? Give me a break! It's not even like offense was a problem for them. Gore will help but I don't really see what the current Johnson gives them that they didn't have last year. NFL.com is a rag.

Adding Andre Johnson has fixed there run defence number-25 isn't that obvious!

I don't know, Gore has to be better than Trent Richardson, and outside of TY Hilton their receivers are pretty rubbish. Favourites is pushing it, but it does allow them to focus on defense in the draft.Number-25 wrote:Just read a funny article on NFL.com which stated in all seriousness that the addition of Andre Johnson and Gore makes the Colts the AFC favourites.... really? I'd hate to be Reggie McKenzie. Guy can't win
I'm happy with the moves that he's made so far, but because we've not grabbed the headlines with Suh, Murray etc all the fans are calling for his head

He's in a muddle really, because these types of moves would've been better for last season, and because of the moves what happened last season the fans almost want it made up by big moves this

DeMarco Murray signs with the Eagles on a five year contract for $40m with $20m guaranteed. Ryan Mathews deal is not done. He agreed a deal but nothing has been signed.

Too much chatter for my liking over the last couple of days about the Redskins taking Mariota with the 5th pick if he's still there.
Coa we don't have enough rubbish QBs on the roster already.
Here's hoping it's just stirring the pot a little to freak out other teams enough to trade with us so they can nab him instead.

Or they realised that Logan Ryan would be their number 1 CB.

Sheards a nice signing. Seemed like the Revis thing was always a y
1 year thing with Browner brought in to play man opposite him. Probably go back to a zone style in the secondary again.

Definitely see that happening, and at least we did 're-sign mccourty so have a top safety. Hopefully we'll add another DT or two then our front 7 is really really good.

Relax... Give the big guy a break... There's still 6 months until the first game of the season. So what if the big guy is carrying a wee bit of extra insulation just now? That's what coaches and mini-camps and early training camp are all for - getting guys in shape. Anyway, he's a big 'ol 2-down run stuffing NT... we're not going to be asking him to cover Megatron or anything like that!

Lazy and overweight.... and he still makes us a better team than we were last season! Says it all about my Redskins.
I see Orakpo is off to Tennessee. $8m a year..... that's about €5m a year too much for a guy with his injury history and lack of really big plays.

In other news, the Vikings have sent a 5th round pick to Miami for Mike Wallace and a 7th.

I have suggests on other sites that they try and do a deal with the Titans. Trade Drew Brees to Tennessee and swap at least 1st round picks. This would work out for both teams. The Saints would get #2 pick and possibly draft Marcus Mariota, could take Maxx Williams at #31 at TE. The Titans get Brees for a couple of years and can develop Zach Mettenberger behind him.GSC wrote:The Saints should be trying to trade Brees

I think it was a good move for the Dolphins. They have bought Kenny Stills and Jordan Cameron in, got rid of Mike Wallace to the Vikings and Jarvis Landry looked pretty good towards the end of season last year. They could even possibly keep Charles Clay. The Dolphins have one of the strongest defences in the league last season and have added Suh. I don't think Ellerbe will be a huge lost and there are a number of decent LBs available in the first half of the draft.Olly wrote:I can't be the only one who thinks the saints won that stills trade?

The Bills have signed Percy Harvin on a one year deal. They now have Harvin, McCoy, Felton, Watkins and Woods in their offence. All they need now is a QB.

I'm happy with what the Patriots have done so far. Re-signing McCourty was a big deal, especially with the mess we have at DB right now, Sheard should be solid and would allow us to rotate our edge players more, Cadet could fill the Vereen role.
